Why was bringing Victor Moses on such a strange decision? He has pace, gives the opposition defence something to worry about. If there isn't an outlet then you invite the opposition to play higher up the pitch which is dangerous when trying to protect a single goal lead. Moses coming on made perfect sense.

Agree with that, if he produced some real quality alongside the pace, it would be a massive weapon to have in the run in, unfortunatley he hasn't taken his chance here, done nothing of real note so far, but there's still time, and with Sturridge maybe out, we could need him.
If he scored one winning or contributing to a win..goal in the next 4 games, then his loan would have been worth it.

Moses being a bit and uncomposed directly led to Henderson also being a bit **** and uncomposed which directly led Henderson to be sent off. If either of them was able to be in control the ball with their first three touches at that time, we'd have finished the game with 11 men.Oh I don't know.

we know we will be back in the champions league for next year. it will be a bigger test for the manager to have to integrate some new players and then have to keep us ticking in all comps without compromising any league games.
hopefully more use of subs once games are sown up to give fringe players game time so they are match ready for when called upon and rest the key players.
he has done great so far its going to be a more difficult juggling act and a much tougher test for brendan.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I sure hope so; the number of **** managers in employment because they used to play the game is incredible. It is potentially stopping the more appropriately qualified folk from taking the big jobs.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI wonder if Rodgers can be the inspiration for younger people to jump straight into coaching and management rather than player -> coach/manager?

But Rodgers was a player, just not a very good one and got injured. Just like Rafa and I’m sure a lot of other managers.
Would be very hard for somebody with no football background to get their badges and be given a chance by a club IMO, plus they would need another source of income during the earlier years.
Edit: But I suppose there already are plenty in lesser roles that did PE and studied sports Science etc that got involved in the game without playing.Last edited by RedReet; 15-04-14, 09:17 AM.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I know the vast majority of managers are ex-players, my post didn't mean to read so black and white. Footbll is so incestual and insular that, as you rightly said, any person with their coaching badges and a sports science degree has little to no chance of managing at the highest level.Originally posted by RedReet View PostBut Rodgers was a player, just not a very good one and got injured. Of course they'd have to learn from the bottom up, but my point was more about clubs taking a risk to the talent that hasn't made a name for themselves playing football. How often do you see the odds for the next manager and you see the same household names of failed - and quite average - ex-footballers? Perhaps they need to break from the norm.

Quick question that I could find out but am hoping someone will know. There's been a fair bit said this season regards no team having come from 7th to 1st in successive seasons. What's the lowest finishing position that has made the jump to 1st?
