However I am not sure disbanding the transfer committee is the solution either. Both of them (Brendan and the committee) have made very bad signings imo
I think people are getting carried away with the signings thing. Most I think will come good and some already look impressive. Can is 20 years old and looks superb.

The one that's the big problem is Lovren as he was seen as the solution to our fundamental issues. It's not had the impact hoped, meaning the issue is still there, and because we're not scoring as many (because of losing a 51 goal partnership) we're now dropping points regularly. And this is spotlighting the recruitment policy in general - not helped by the usual media bellends.

In terms of transfers, we're certainly not as far away as people make out. One top centre back and a striker and we will be a transformed team.

Then BR just needs to make the right selection decisions - wasn't sure about yesterday's line up.

    P.s when is Flanagan back?

A very rational and calm opinion [emoji106].

It still feels like **** though and I'm pretty certain that we will only finish 6th or 7th this season at best.

I actually feel the defense has improved the last couple of games, you aren't going to go from 'really ****' to '10 out of 10' in one game but we have seemed better organized for both the Madrid and Chelsea game.

I still don't see any goals though and I still think Mario is a lazy prick and a complete waste of space. We might as well play with 10 men if Rodgers is going to continue playing him.

And I don't know why Lallana doesn't get more game time.

I have serious doubts about Brendan, he needs to tackle the Gerrard situation now, he can't drag it out longer IMO. Lovren is also a problem, he is just allover the place and makes Skrtel look postitionally disciplined. I would bench Gerrard as of next game and start Lucas with Can and Henderson in front of him.

But Gerrard will get more chances, especially now Sturridge should be back. Next line up will be similar to Tottenham IMO. Brendan feels he has to vindicate some of his purchases and decisions, which will lead us to more trouble.

Not saying sack him, but let him know this is unacceptable. We can't sack him until Dortmund sack Klopp, they are in the bottom place in the Bundesliga.

Rodgers took over Reading summer of 2009. Given 'substantial funds' in the summer window to 'build upon' success left by Steve Coppell...

Is this the time i remind people it's 5 years and one month since Rodgers was sacked as Reading manager bottom of the championship? No? Ok

According to Danny Murphy (who still speaks to Stevie & Carra), the players are fewmin with BR about the teamsheet at the Bernabeu. #LFC

He definitely deserves at least the season barring an unforeseen horrendous run of results and performances (like losing 5 games consecutively without scoring). People are saying this is Hodgson esque, which really it isn't. Even though the performances and his press conferences have been dire, I don't think I can really liken them.

Having said that it's extremely worrying and there appears to be little hope of turning things around. A couple of good results though can change things pretty quickly, I know there are a number of well documented personnel and tactical issues/dilemmas currently, but a few wins would paper the cracks.

I've said from day one, I'm not really a fan with Rodgers footballing philosophy, but he's definitely capable and this poor spell hasn't dragged on for long enough nor been poor enough (it's not like we're bottom or out of any competition yet) to do anything reckless/drastic. As it stands at the moment, Sturridge is definitely his trump card.

Why use a parallel from 5 years ago when at Reading when he is our current manager and his most recent full season he led us to second. Surely that is more relevant?

                  "Fewmin"? Was this Duncan Jenkins?

I don't think Reading's chairman (John Madejski?) can really comment on a six month spell. Quite obviously Brendan is going to be committed to his ideas and six months is no time to implement them. It's more short-sightedness from Reading than anything else.

The players opinions shouldn't really be of his concern. His job is to get results, if they're fewmin or not.

I hope he drops the under performers again verses Palace. There's a power struggle going on and he needs to show his battle strength if he wants to continue in charge.

Players should maybe exhibit how fewmin they are on the pitch more often as at the moment they look ambivalent rather than dejected

Perhaps they should have played better in the pervious 5 league games to earn a spot on the team sheet against RM. They simple didn't deserve to play on the form they were in.
More made up bull**** no doubt

I'd like to see underperforming players dropped too. Thing is though he clearly didn't drop them for Real Madrid, because they were reinstated despite their replacements performing well. They were rested. I'm sure I read he told SG of his plan over a week before the game.
