Great, great servant..............shame he wasn't rewarded with 'real' silverware in his time with us.
Legs were going, but he never once shirked any responsibility on the pitch and his place in the squad will be sorely missed when things are not going our way.

As Eamonn Dunphy, gob****e that he is, said a few year back when he was going off on one slagging his technical ability................"he's an awesome man!"

I love Dirk, I'm a bit sad to see him go. Went through a stage where he really worked on my nerves in around his 3rd season and I feel absolutely awful for giving him a lot of stick. When it mattered he was always there and gave us a lot. Perhaps not the player we expected when we grabbed him, but he definitely showed us a lot. I remember his debut like it was yesterday, and when he came on as a sub, I knew we had made a great signing. His work rate and game intelligence is right up there, best of luck to him.
