Not that I blame those that do, but it's refreshing to see a legend retire gracefully, happy with his lot, rather than milking the cash cow in the US or China before hanging up their boots.
Xabi.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Sticking up for the Average footballer here
But half of them struggle to tie there shoelaces never mind think of a career afterwards hence why so many face difficulties when leaving football, So i don;t blame them for milking their career at the end.
Its allright for Xabi been offered a place on the board at Bayern Munich allready._____________________________________

What do you mean, that they need the extra money or they need to keep playing football?Originally posted by red g View PostSticking up for the Average footballer here

and the Charity Shield.
And he might be adding a few more to that list this season.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Just think of the managers he has played under.
Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti and Benitez. You cant get a more varied and elite list than that at the moment. All different styles, and all top level coaches. He has been smart to go to Bayern at the end of his career and get a different perspective.
He might not go into management, but if he does he has had a hell of an education.*Except Michael, who died.

I think it`s both. They realize they will have to change their spending habits, and they don`t know any other life that the training/match regime set by the club. I (think) I read somewhere that for ex-professionals (might have been many sports) the chance of getting divorced within a couple of years after retiring was very high. Having to spend more time together apparently isn`t good for the marriage, especially when the shopping gets hurt as well.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWhat do you mean, that they need the extra money or they need to keep playing football?Blank
