Business as usual at Chelsea actually means he'll be sacked.

Roman has been through more managers than Jesus Gil at Athletico.

Another bad career move by Rafa. Keep hearing this "he needed a job". But there were plenty of jobs he was offered and turned down. I love the guy for 2005 I really do. But he is making a habit of blaming others. He wasn't forced to take the Chelsea job. He knew the fans would hate him. Pretty similar to Mcleish at Villa. The fans were pretty outspoken about it prior to him even getting the job, but he still took it. He also knew about the "Interim" thing and took the job

Chelsea and its fans are an absolute joke. But Rafa really needs to take a step back and make the next job choice the right one to repair his reputation. I don't think it should be in England either as the press just blow everything out of proportion regards him

The most galling thing about him choosing to return to management with Chelsea for me wasn't him joining a "rival", it was that he's long said he was looking for the right type of "project". A club he could mould in his image in the long term, with the full backing of the board. In the end he did the absolute polar opposite.

I think he just got desperate in the end and thought it might be his last big chance in England, so ditched his principles and took the job. Well it's backfired badly.

Totally agree mate. He has my sympathy because of who he is, but then I think why did he choose Chelsea and such a ****ty interim position. Needs to go back to Spain IMO and show what he is all about.

Now Agent Rafa needs to quietly slip them out of CL contention and my joy will be complete.

I'd say Spain as well. He's well respected over in Spain. Needs to go away and rebuild his career/cv. It's a shame to see the way he is treated by Chelsea and also the press.. The guy is a Champions League winner and has won titles in Spain. His whole so-called rant has been blown way out of proportion.

Anyone with half a brain cell could tell it would never work for him at Chelsea

He should follow Mourinho to Madrid, no?
                  Oh I don't know.

I would love him to go back to Valencia. Feels right.

Graham Hunter was saying he isn't even a contender. I bet he'd have had more of a chance if he hadn't had this stint at Chelsea

Valencia or a team of that ilk in Spain would make the most sense, I'd really not want to see him follow Mourinho at Madrid, we saw what happened when he went into Inter after "the special one".

It hasn't really backfired though if he gets his full pay pack. I'd say to get paid to the end of the season, while not having to spend a moment more than is needed there, is the sign of success.

£10m wasn't it? 3 months work you say

I'd leave my career and reputation in tatters for £500k, happily.

That's why you're not a world class football manager then (amongst a zillion other reasons I'm sure)

He was already beyond loaded anyway, so I think for someone as ambitious as Rafa the financial remuneration is scant consolation for how things have gone for him at Chelsea.

He wanted a project where he'd be able to spend money. It's pretty common knowledge that Chelsea managers don't buy players, Roman does. It was pretty common knowledge also that Moratti is a tight fcuk and wouldn't pump money in. Inter had just won the treble and the only way was down.

Yeah he needed a job but I think his choices have been more to satisfy an ego rather than the correct choices. Chelsea was a disaster and was always going to be a disaster due to Roman and the player power there

its a pretty big blow for him now if he gets sacked from the chavs.

no big club will touch him
