Much as I'd like it, you'd like it and another 53.868% of the Liverpool fanbase would like it, I don't think FSG would like it. The other 46.132% would be hugely vocal as well if it went a bit wrong... He's still divisive.

Yeah fair points. That's how it would start alright but if it didn't work out and frustrations set in I'm sure Rafa and any other top manager would be more vocal about the restraints they have to work under than Brendan is cos they can afford to be, they are winners. Brendan has no pedigree so has to shut his mouth and carry on.
He's still not coming back though.

He could only argue if he was told one thing and then another thing happened. The summer Alonso left, he was told he'd have X amount of pounds and then they changed the goal posts and gave him less. He rightly kicked up a fuss as it completely messed up our transfer plans. I doubt he'd have brought in a half fit Aquilani if he knew he wasn't going to get more cash to get Jovetic.Originally posted by G View PostThey'd know that if he couldn't get what he wanted he'd kick up a fuss and let us know what's really going on . They don't want that hassle. He'll never be back.
Give him the parameters and then ask if he wants the job. Give him a budget each season. I guarantee he'd happily sign on the dotted line even with constraints. And he'd definitely have us there challenging again.
I still think Rodgers can do a job, and he is definitely a more entertaining manager. So I'd not get rid in a hurry without knowing his plans. But if I was FSG this summer I'd have serious chat with Rodgers, and if I didn't like his answers, I'd be straight in the phone to Rafa.

Completely agreeOriginally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI was happy when he left as him & the Yanks had gone toxic. I'd have took him straight back when we got new owners and if Rodgers went, he'd be my number one choice over anyone. Under him, you could take it to the bank that this summer he'd sign a top midfielder and players would want to come due to his record in Europe.
And players under him improved as long as they were willing to conform to the team ethos. He wasn't one for letting individuals just do their own thing, other than maybe the one behind the striker, but it was definitely a recipe for success. If I was FSG and I wanted a change this summer, I'd just give Rafa the whole budget and say do what you like with it.
