I am not sure I believe this injury thing in regards to selection etc..

Why would we look at signing Benteke for £32 million if we were concerned over injuries because his record isnt great either

To me if this is the excuse that Brendan is using then it doesnt make sense on so many levels

Never say never. Specially with Sturridge if he gets injured again. We can still get good money for him.

Has Rodgers said this is the reason though? I’ve only seen it suggested by a section of fans who are clearly conforming to the popular notion that having a settled back 4 is more important than any other position on the pitch. It’s not that far fetched a suggestion really, even if it is unlikely.

I may be wrong on this but hasn't Benteke only really had one long injury lay off, where as Sakho has had numerous small injuries periodically that have put him out for a few games at a time. I imagine that you assume anyone can get a big injury, but someone who regularly gets smaller injuries probably has a more serious underlying problem that is likely to keep coming back. The big injuries you can't really do anything about.

I notice a lot of people often quote what Carra and Neville said about Lovren on MNF, but have they ever analysed Sakho for us? Curious what a proper defender makes of him.
