He wasn't great last night and his continued injuries are a big concern but he's our best centrehalf by a considerable distance.

Exactly what I said but you have to take into account the number of games per season he offers, and in how many of those he's actually fully fit and playing well, I don't think it's a great number to be honest. If he repeats it all next season, it wouldn't make much sense to keep counting on him as a part of the team's spine, right?

Central defence is about partnerships and we've been so unlucky this season with actually being able to send out the same pair game after game.

Look at most championship winning or challenging sides the defence is usually a constant through the season.

been like that for a long time unfortunately, even back with Agger. Having to chop and change your backline on a regular basis is suicide.

We should try Lovren and Toure. Surely thats the only combination left?

In no way can a (lack of) regular partnership excuse Sakho's recent performances.

I'm willing to go him a pass as he may not be fit or more importantly match sharp but he's a problem when he's playing like this. Errant passing, people running off him easily, etc is down to poor personal form.

Would like him to stay fit for the rest of the season as his injuries are becoming an issue.

I put the first goal down to the clash of heads with Giroud

That doesnt excuse the rest of his performance but for that goal maybe I will give him the benefit of the doubt

We have Ilori and Caulker now so many more combinations to try

Sakho didn't have his best game, but I thought that he was ok given the circumstances - just coming back from injury and clearly not match fit. I think that under normal circumstances he wouldn't have been rushed back.

The one positive out of today was that this man looked back to his best.

Some fantastic challenges and wonderful chest control.

Some absolute bullet headers too. Was a monster.

If Matip happens we should have quite the paring (hopefully)

Agreed, looked excellent today. Need to find him a partner for next season and hope he can stay fit.

                          Matip
                          Lovren
                          Gomez

                          New keeper also required

Thought he was very good today (so was Toure and Lucas).
                            Another MASSIVE game

I think as much as you are enjoying the hope you'll be swapping Skrtel for Lovren in that list.
