I honestly can't fathom why he would have been sent home from a character/personality perspective. Surely it was more to do with tardiness and/or out of training hours naughtiness?

Yeah, I agree. I doubt anyone's told him "you're going home cause you're an annoying clown" when Moreno's still there. Had to have been training/discipline related.
