If we were serious about a league challenge - then even offering Sakho + £20m for Van Djik would be a good move. Southampton's owners love a good sale and they would justify it as being a good sale getting a french international plus a wad of cash for a player that they bought from Celtic for 10 / 12million?


Klopp said he would only do in Jan hat he would do in the summer anyway. Well I feel that if we wait for the summer, then Van Djik will possibly be out of our reach. But with us in the champions league next season, then you would expect us to get another center back anyway. (I wouldn't be surprised if part of Klopps long term plan would be to sometimes go to a back 3 anyway)


And also if we are lumbered with Sakho in the summer, then his value will also go down a lot. Clubs like Palace and Swansea won't be as desperate to spend big on a transfer + wages - whereas in January they will be ****ting it that the premier league gravy train is going to stop so they will go mental.

Personally I think Klopp needs to swallow some pride and get him back in the squad. The amount of clubs interested should be enough of an indicator that they're willing to take a risk on him.

I'd concur but i'm not privvy to the info that Klopp is (obviously).

It was rumoured that senior players in the team were fed up of Sakho before it all came to a head, so if that was indeed true i can see why he'd force him out.

Just hope it's a fee and not a loan, for all parties concerned.
