I take that point. I find the Agger situation strange for sure. I don't think he is great defensively. He's prone to as many lapses in concentration as Skrtel if not more. Ball playing he is brilliant. But if you want to be a top team, then you need a solid defence. Agger and Skrtel never cut it and I don't think Agger and Toure would either. The right-footed centre-back seems to be the issue

I think Agger may well be moved on, but looks like Skrtel is probably becoming more marketable. A 3-5-2 with Skrtel-Agger-Sakho would be interesting to see as well

Disagree with what you're saying about Agger, we kept 3 clean sheets this season with him in the team and none without so why BR is persisting with Skrtel who has proved time and again to be unreliable I don't know.
What I'd like to see is a return to 4 at the back with CB pairing of either Agger/Toure or Agger/Sakho, 5 at the back is OK every now and again but it shouldn't be our primary formation.

He has come into a new league and only played a handful of games; overall has been good. He's still young in centre back terms and is in a new team with a new language etc.

You can't judge this guy or his signing on the first ten games of the season - we've got him as a long term CB and I for one think he will improve a lot more and will be a top quality player for us in years to come.

That's fair enough mate. Last season I think he had as many defensive lapses if not more than Skrtel did. I definitely think Agger and Skrtel should not be the starting CB partnership. I'd try Agger and Sakho but both being left footed I'm not sure how it will work

Maybe I was OTT with Agger. I don't think he's a bad defender. But he needs an organiser alongside him for me. Toure was poor on Saturday for me and showed why we needed to spend on a top quality CB. I don't think he'll keep his performance levels up for a whole season. I like Sakho though

He was a total pointless signing. The goals against column since he arrived is proof of this and your point on Agger

The problem is that we expected Skrtel to be sold before the start of the season and that didn't happen.

Pointless signing was Ilori, where money could've been used better short term expecially as he is not getting any playing time whatsoever.
