It's a real pity he's more or less a goner. I think a Matip-Sahko partnership could have been the way forward. Both excellent front-footed defenders with the ability to pass the ball out.

I liked him, but I can't say I've particularly missed him. I also can't see a £20m fee for a player with professionalism issues and drug issues (association - I know he was cleared) ever being agreed. He's been bounced out of 2 clubs because of his behaviour now, that will compromise his value.

I'm glad he's not in the team now, because I was so bored of the "Sakho is absolute rubbish" talk you had to listen to from people who never watch him. It was boring and tiring.

Yeah, ****ty attitude and weight/fitness issues, it's not thd best basis to try and sell someone. Just need to get shut so we can move on.

I loved him to be fair, but I havent given him a second thought for quite a while, if not for this thread I'd probably have forgotten him completely. Not that bothered what we'll get for him either.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Feel the same as you guys, loved him but completely forgotten about him all too easily! It's not like Klopp can't pick a player either so i'm sure we will replace him well

I dont think you can compare. While I dont think Sakho is that bad, he never quite seems to be in control of the ball in the same way. Matip can play the ball out without the drama.

From what I've seen I still think Sakho is the better ball player of the two from the back. he just looks weird doing it. Matip looks generally more composed though, which is better for defensive duties. Sakho's concentration was always a worry but I'd have loved to see him play alongside Matip. He has no one else to blame for being pushed out of the team/squad though and the sooner he is moved on the better for everyone.

Balotelli moved three times for fees in and around that number despite many issue.

Suarez, despite his crazy level of talent, went for massive money despite well publicized issues.

Could probably make a decent sized list of players with various issues who went for big enough fees despite their issues.

Sakho is a talented player and his issues would be on the lower end of things when compared to other many players with issues. Looking at what many other centre backs went for in terms of fees, I don't think a fee in the range of £20m is OTT for him at all.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I'm thinking you haven't watched much of Matip?

I really think he is - specialising in quick passing that sets things in motion. They are both good but to me Sakho feels more incisive.

would have liked to have seen a Matip/Sakho partnership.....not convinced Matip/Lovren is the but i'm sure Klopp has his ideas and plans.
