He was actually doing all the Bobby things quite well for most of the game. Holding the ball up well, winning it. Fighting hard.

I think it’s the game plan that’s been found out and that is leaving us looking slightly blunt. We therefor need to mix it up a bit and let Jota start a few and have Bobby coming on from the bench.

I wonder would Klopp consider dropping him a bit deeper like in his Hoff days and having Jota in the front 3? IMO Jota is flying at the moment, he is a livewire and a Jota/Mane/Salah line up even switching around during the game would be a nightmare for any defence, so unpredictable with so much movement. It's a good problem for us to have that our famous front 3 is being challenged, a welcome dilemma imo.

Well he did that against Sheffield United, so I guess so.

**** no. Dropped not rested. He's just one of the squad. They all need to know if their level drops off their out of the team, and also if their consistently good they earn a start.

His level has dropped off for a long time now. He needs to be dropped and then let's see how he responds to it.

The passes that Thiago plays, strengthens the argument that we need an extra goal scorer up top, to be on the end of them, and have less need for Bobby’s build up play...

Obviously having that extra ability to find the passes will help all the forwards, I don't think there is anything in particular that would help Firmino more than Jota (or Salah or Mane for that matter), whoever is on the pitch will benefit.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Miles better wasn't he? I thought he had a brilliant first half. His all-round game was much more like we've come to expect from him.

In the second half after going so close I felt like it was all getting to him, but he hung in there, got his goal, and I'm delighted for him!

I'd definitely start him against Atalanta now, I fancy him to score. If he can go on a little bit of a goalscoring run it would be a massive boost to our season to have an in-form Bobby Firmino!

I'd love to know his scoring record after Internationals. He definitely had a good record two seasons ago and his overall ratio must be much higher than his normal goal scoring rate.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Definitely deserved the goal. His first touch is incredible throughout that, no matter how the ball arrives, he manages it.

Probably no coincidence that our best performance of the season so far coincided with Bobby’s best.

                                Roberto Firmino

Yep he did. One of our best players yesterday. I still see people suggesting he should have more of an “end product” and these people are still missing the point.
                                Are we winning?
