Shamelessly stolen from Twitter but it is originally from the Anfield Index I believe.

He's a bit wasted on the wing isn't he? Not that he was bad there, but I think he'd be much more effective closer to goal the way Suarez was. It was against Arsenal though so understandable. Would definitely like to see us try him in a 2 with Benteke against lesser sides

His best position definitely seems to be off a striker (never seen him play before we signed him but most regular German football watchers say off a striker is his position).....but it's difficult to see him getting many, if any, chances in that position.

Because I think we'll, more often than not, play 4-3-3.

I suppose if we play a diamond or 4-2-3-1 then that position becomes a factor. We could stick Firmino behind a striker with Coutinho deeper. I prefer Coutinho in that number 8 type of position anyway.

Could be interesting to see what Brendan does when Sturridge returns.

                          Sturridge - Benteke
                          Firmino
                          Coutinho - Milner - Henderson

Could be a way to shoehorn them all into the side, but that's vulnerable in midfield and leaves out Can and Lucas, and Lallana, and Ibe, and Markovic, and Allen, and Origi, and Ings

I think perceptions are skewed by unrealistic expectations. He isn't really the guy to beat two or three and stick it in the net. Was good vs Stoke, quiet against Bournemouth and solid against arsenal.

He is a great team player though and I'm pretty sure he will succeed here.

From the way we've played the first three games I think the "masterplan" is a midfield of Henderson and Milner with Coutinho ahead, and a front three of Benteke central, Sturridge left and Firminho right. We'll sometimes play a diamond, and sometimes a 4-2-3-1 but that 4-3-3 looks like this year's plan A to me.

Personally, at home I'd like to see a diamond with Can/Lucas behind Milner and Henderson, and with Coutinho behind 2 up front against all but the best sides.
