Thanjk you.
Paul.S
He's in a rich vain of form so far throughout pre season & now against Arsenal today.
He's little give & goes around the 18yd box are cutting defended to shreds. He's so intelligent & now that he's got a few more like minded players I expect him to shine regularly.
I said I wouldn't venture into his thread, but more performances like that yesterday please. Very involved with build-up play, and was exceptional when Coutinho came off, taking the mantle of being the silky, creative spark.

takes a lot of pressure off Cou when he steps to the plate like he did yesterday. Fantastic player and one who will get better and better for us. Takes the piss out of opponents with his ball control and skills!

Strange but I only saw one or two moments of quality from him. The rest seemed mediocre.
That's the thing. Last year, he had isolated moments which were very good, rather than being involved more often in the rest of the game Those isolationist moments were acts of brilliance for goals and assists, and that's what most people remember.
What I saw yesterday was a regular involvement in the game, wanting the ball, holding it in the wide areas, waiting for attacking runners, moving around to create space. It contributed to a more sustained period of attacks from us.
Even Lallana was more involved in play. After our slow start, in the second half, we tried to do things quicker, and every player had to play their part in getting the ball from defence to attack as quickly as possible. Coutinho and Firmino did that, which was most encouraging.
I thought that yesterday he did alot of link up play and but in a good performance but didn't have the magic moments we saw from him last year. Obviously not everyone can stand out every game.
My thing with Firmino is he is a good player, but I still don't know what his role is when everyone is available, it feels like he has been stuck in various positions but hasn't really got one of his own. You would imagine if we want an out and out striker Origi or Sturridge would be ahead of him, and you can't see Coutinho or Mane missing out for him to play in one of those roles.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
I think he does an excellent job. He scores goals, links play and creates opportunities. I'm not sure we will always play with a traditional striker. I think Firmino is preferred by Klopp to either Sturridge or Origi at the minute. Also, I see no problem having a plausible backup for Coutinho in his position. Having options is a good thing, isn't it?

I re-watched the second half and you're right, I'm not sure who I was watching but Firmino was excellent
Between him, Origi, Ings and Sturridge, we have a striker for most oppositions and situations.

Dude, I don't think you understand the Internet at all
When someone points out you may be wrong... you don't 'head off and recheck the evidence' and even when you inevitably find out that you were wrong, you don't come back and ****ing admit it...!!! You double down on your initial opinion, you push the discussion repeatedly and aggressively towards argument you fan the flames... don't put them out???!!!
You wait until other posters pile in (oh, they will) to what has now become a heated and angry debate. And only then, once the insults have become personal, off topic and are irrelevant are you allowed to reassess your position in any way. No one will care by then anyway or even recall what you initially said
You want to post something along these lines in future:
No, Firmino is ****e, I don't know why we ever play him. And you and anyone else who disagrees is a cunt.
This kind of level headed reassessment followed by an immediate acknowledgement and climb down from your initial position just won't do at all
