I think a signing like Firmino transforms the other signings, suddenly Milner and Ings look like good signings, we have Origi coming in and possibly Clyne. Let's say Sterling, Lambert and Borini leave.

    Milner > Gerrard
    Firmino > Sterling
    Origi > Borini
    Clyne > Johnson
    Ings > Lambert
    Bogdan > Jones

Then we have Wisdom, Illori and Gomez in and Ibe for the whole season. Not having to deal with the Gerrard situation will be relief for Rodgers as well.
Its definitely added some positivity. I've always thought that Milner was a good signing, Origi, I just have a feeling he's going to be a complete disaster and be gone in a couple of seasons. Ings should be a decent squad addition, alongside another top forward. Clyne would be an improvement on Johnson no doubt, but lets see if he signs first.

We need to add a top striker and a top centre back next imo, then I think we can have a decent run.

Weird. Second biggest signing in Liverpool's history and the manager has nothing to say about it?

Goals and assists aside, #Firmino made 175 tackles over the last two seasons, a tally bettered by only five players in the Budesliga. #LFC

I don't think he's much quicker than Lallana if at all. Would still like us to sign someone who is more explosive to compensate for the loss of Sterling when the inevitable happens.
On the contrary, his anticipation is a lot higher than most so he appears to be there in an instant. Watch his movement, it's really good.

Is he not just checking whether or not he's been given offside? Certainly looks like it in the first clip, the over the defender cross where he takes it round the keeper
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Roberto Firmino believes he improved 'physically, technically and tactically' during his time in Germany, but the new Liverpool forward insists there is plenty more development for him.

The Reds announced today that a deal has been completed, subject to a medical after the Copa America, for the 23-year-old Brazilian to join Brendan Rodgers' squad ahead of the 2015-16 season.

During his four-and-a-half years with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, Firmino made 151 league and cup appearances and struck an impressive tally of 47 goals.

His form at club level forced recognition on the international stage and the versatile attacker has found the target four times in nine games for his country to date.

Speaking to FIFA.com in March, Firmino said: "When I arrived at Hoffenheim I could already play football, but I've developed physically, technically and tactically since then.

"The Bundesliga is one of the world's best leagues. I had to adapt and improve to get by here, and although I've now reached a good level, there's still more left to do.

"My own dissatisfaction is my biggest motivation."

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is delighted with the signing.

"I'm delighted", said Rodgers. "It's wonderful."
