Don't want to bore everyone but he gets goals, ****ing atrocious at the end again but I'm putting that down to a lack of confidence.
I thought he was strong up front on his own tonight, brought others into play with some good touches but his passing was a bit off but better from him overall. Movement was hugely improved especially in the second half.
I think we will see huge improvements from him between now and the end of the season. Could see at the end that his teammates like him but also that his confidence is low as everyone was going up to him.
Seems like a nice guy, perhaps too nice and if he was more of a cunt like Suarez then he'd be lethal, all down to confidence and self belief with Benteke, the lad has potential to be an animal.
He's scored 2 in 2 he shouldn't have any confidence issues and is capable when acting on instinct but give him time to think and it's all a bit of a mess.
Thought he was decent today, should've had a least another goal. All our attackers are pretty poor but at least Big Ben has got us the points these last couple of games. Can't wait for Sturridge to be back though.
He's a match winner, the lad has picked up a handful of crucial goals this season.
Without him we'd be in a right mess.
Spot on.
I think people just want to see the likes of Suarez in a red shirt again and that's never going to happen. We have to adapt and move forward and whether that means with this lad or someone else then so be it, he's not Luis Suarez or Fernando Torres and never will be but he gets us goals and we've yet to see what he's like with decent quality up front with him.
Give him a chance lads he's only been here not even one season.

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.
I think his all round game was better today he showed some good link up play with the others tonight. He seems to be a player who can finish a chance when he doesn't have time to think the goals in the last couple of games have shown that, neither he had much time, also the two misses were in situations where he had time to think.
That said, he's got two winning goals in his last two games, which is what he's on the pitch to do. And at the moment there is no-one else getting goals
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
I completely understand the frustrations over Benteke but if he keeps scoring, then the club will be able to recoup the majority of his inflated fee back should they choose to sell in the summer.
Thing is, if he hadn't of played the last two games I don't know who would have scored. 6 pts and two 1-0's is infinitely less frustrating than 2 pts and 0-0 each game.
His combination play with Coutinho and firmino was much better tonight though, lots of one twos and it's only fair to acknowledge that if you are going to criticise the predictable movement or the miss.

He's alright as long as he doesn't have to think about it.
HE has a Window of time when he's really good. When Cout/Firm really sets the pace it's too fast and it looks like he hasn't got a clue. Give him to much time and he starts wondering about the great philosophers and misses. At just the right speed he will score.
Just thought about this; has there ever been a player who's won his team a game with the only goal of the match, but still managed to end up looking like a total arse - for two games in a row? It's quite an achievement really Chris

The pressure at Liverpool is different though. Fans are criticising him even when scoring and the reception he received when he signed can at best be described as mixed. I'd be surprised if he wasn't aware of these things. I don't imagine he ever experienced this at Villa.

The trouble is, a lot of what he can't do ends up putting us on the back foot. He was better tonight but it makes it hard for us to keep pressure on and his staticness means making chances is harder. We need so much more if we want to move on.
Regardless of what anyone thinks of him, he is the only player in the side at the moment who looks like getting goals. While we may want to develop his all round game we can't afford to lose the goals he offers.
