Blimey, if we can unload Balotelli as well we'll be saving as much in wages as we're earning from the new seat revenue in the gods

Shocking isn't it not spending money on players the manager doesn't want or need

Spent **** all and the squad is much better than it was at the end of the season. Kloppfactor.

Paul Joyce reckons Palace's initial bid only amounted to about £15m up front, if that's remotely true then we've done a pretty good job by sticking to our guns.

Apparently the remaining ~£5m in clauses now are relatively realistic, I don't think anyone would have thought you sane if told 12 months ago that Benteke would be seen as a failure yet we'd still get all our money back.

So we should just blow money for the sake of it? Isn't that the attitude that landed us with Andy Carroll for £35m?

What's been so pleasing this summer is that rather than selling our best players for big fees, we've actually been able to generate a lot of value from people on the periphery of the squad. We've no need to be at all concerned about net spend if that's the case, it actually shows that our transfer policy over the last few years has maybe not been an entire disaster and I don't think there's any doubt that we've improved our squad this summer as well as creating an even better financial position to be able to lure top targets in future. People surely can't try to spin that as a bad thing because we haven't had a massive deficit in our business this window?

I don't think Klopp is the type of manager to take his 8th choice just for the sake of having a positive net spend.

If he gets a sniff of a target he wants he'll go for it, if not he'll make do and wait for the next window.

The amongst not of money we've wasted on **** over the years I'm all for this approach.

Do we know klopp has the players he wants or is he having his hands tied. You spin it both ways. I'm just putting it out there that we never seem to spend much when you take sales into place. It's quite an achievement and we don't normally win much either.

In past years I'd be happy to be frugile with a plan from a top manager, I just doubt it's going to be enough to compete for title's. But hey ho, I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I'm happy with the business we have done/are doing but I would have liked two more players who can help us compete at the top end. I have faith in Klopp and in FSG (for the most part) but I wonder if the new stand costs impact on transfer budgets?

The only position I can see us improve easily is left back, maybe GK and CM but we hvar yet to see Karius and Klopp seems happy with his CM options, dont think we will buy more.

So we complained that we spent too much on Mane and Wijnaldum, yet because we got Grujic, Matip and Karius on the cheap, the club are also at fault for not spending enough overall.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
