The are obviously better players than they are showing .... one thing he nailed ... there has been a constant weak underbelly of this team and I think a lot of it is a combination of mental and individuals being exposed one on one, opposition teams know this and gives them strength. Its football 101 ... start from the backOriginally posted by RedRum View PostI like how he says the most important thing is a stable defence. It will be very interesting to see whether Lovren and Skrtel are just mismanagedAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

He will look to make is more solid and I think he will achieve that. But you watch Dortmund play and you see likes of Subotic and Hummels holding a high line, being comfortable in possession and spraying the odd long ball from the back like a sweeper. Not sure our current mob fit that description.Originally posted by Nicey View PostThe are obviously better players than they are showing .... one thing he nailed ... there has been a constant weak underbelly of this team and I think a lot of it is a combination of mental and individuals being exposed one on one, opposition teams know this and gives them strength. Just watching his PC again
..........I love how he admitted that when he came to Anfield for that friendly last year he was thinking to himself about one day coming back as manager.

Didn't he just stand and stare at the Kop for about 30 seconds? Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I read somewhere that this is the 4th time he's been offered the jobOriginally posted by Leyton388 View Post
I'm wondering IF Klopp had already spoken to the club in the summer and agreed to take over but only after taking some time off? He spoke yesterday about never having Money to spend to go on holiday with his family and then when he had the money he didn't have the time.
We signed Benteke and Firmino who coincidently sounded like previous transfer targets for Klopp.
1st was when we sacked Rafa and got Roy
2nd was when we brought Kenny back
3rd was in the summer
Each time he knocked us back
The rumours are that when he announced a couple of weeks ago he was ready to look at the right job the club FSG contacted him (this was supposedly just after the West Ham or Carlisle match can't remember which)
Apparently when they contacted him they received some encouragement and the rest is history
This ties in with his comment about watching the last 3 games
I think the West Ham or Carlisle game was the nail in the coffin and the rest has been getting the deal done, timing it right or maybe just waiting for the international matchesBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Brendan has left him with a wealth of attacking options, but very few defensive minded players and a fragile looking defence.
There is some work to be done.
I wouldn't be against Joe Gomez cutting his teeth as a centre back - he looks quality, and (other than Sakho) is probably the only ball playing CB we have.Modifying post.

The perfect man to manage Liverpool Football Club and we have him for 3 years .... I cannot wait ... it everything I want in a Manager .. passionate, charismatic, technical, good humoured and very very aggressive
I am dreamland ...I never thought Rafa would be topped, I suspect this man willAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

I like Gomez, but he's a long way from being a starter I'd consider good enough. Only reason he'd sneak in at all would be by virtue of others being garbage. Shouldn't be throwing kids who aren't ready onto a pitch. Tbh, he may already be ready, but I haven't seen enough to convince me of that fact.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post

I agree, but it is a huge area of weakness. I'll imagine training could be interesting this week, with a lot of players wanting to impress.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI like Gomez, but he's a long way from being a starter I'd consider good enough.
