Should we sell one or two of Firmino, Coutinho and Lallana? We have to many no. 10's of similar level.

This is almost a heresy but a bit of me wonders about Klopp's view of Coutinho and not just because of his no show last night. Of the three in behind he is the least hard working off the ball while he probably has the greatest "wastage" but in fairness to him that's probably as he is the one trying to create a shooting position out of nothing when there is nothing really on.

Could blame the owners too, the only games they bother with are finals and we've lost 3 of the 4 they've attendedOriginally posted by Muddled View PostIt's an interesting point.
Do we think Klopp's motivational methods and preparation may have them mentally shattered before kick off? I'm sure I read somewhere of Gerrard being too fired up for a game and the negative energy caused him to become exhausted. Then for the 2006 FA Cup Final - as a more experienced pro - he was more relaxed and lasted longer.
Or we could just be a team of weak minded bottlers.

Originally posted by Tribute View PostThe frustration with Coutinho is a bit reminiscent of Luis Garcia. Can be a wonderful player or score worldies one minute and then pure frustration and sloppy in possession the next. It's fine having one or two more creative players like that ...but last night we had several more...
That's exactly how I described him and Firmino last night. They are both like having two Luis Garcia's on the pitch.
It wouldn't surprise me if only one of them started next season in the first XI. With the number of right and left wingers being linked, it wouldn't surprise me if neither of them started.
I've tried so hard to see what others claim they see in them, but I don't. I'm not expecting Lallana to start next season anyway, which is why I've not included him here.

It is difficult to maintain full pressing perfectly every minute of the game.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostI think it could have worked with someone like Lucas alongside Can, Milner isn't what we need centrally, neither are Allen or Henderson TBH. In fact with the benefit of hindsight, maybe something lie, Can - Allen/Lucas in midfield and Firmino - Lallana - Milner behind Sturridge.
I know we can't drop Coutinho, but this would make up for Sturridge's lack of pressing.
Even with Lucas I think all of our midfielders are better off in a midfield three and will get overrun in a midfield two regularly. It is going to be interesting to see how Klopp develops this team. Right now our favored front 6 is:
Sturridge
Firmino Coutinho Lallana
Can Another CM
Sturridge plays his best with a partner to do his running for him. We cannot drop him also as for all his lack of pressing, he provides us with consistent goals and is a game changer.
The attacking trio are way too inconsistent to warrant regular starting roles.
Our midfield functions best with three players than two.
So something will have to give.

'Two hours ago you all felt s***!': Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp delivers rousing speech in the wake of Europa League heartbreak
Jurgen Klopp delivered a rousing speech to Liverpool's players before leading a rendition of a terrace chant in an attempt to mend their European heartbreak.
Liverpool had a party planned at their team hotel for after the Europa League final and Klopp insisted it went ahead following their 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in Basle, given how much effort the squad had put into their season.
It was in the early hours when Klopp gathered the playing staff, along with his backroom team, on the dance floor and told them: 'Two hours ago you all felt s***. Now hopefully you all feel better. This is just the start for us. We will play in many more finals.'
With that, Klopp then started singing 'We are Liverpool, tra-la-la-la!' and made the room join in before the party resumed.
Liverpool returned back to Merseyside to begin their holidays ahead of a summer of sweeping changes.
A number of players are expected to leave and perhaps the most high-profile could be Christian Benteke, who is the subject of strong interest from West Ham United. What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins
