I'm not a fan of that set up with our squad, and having been the 3 friendlies so far its very clear that formation will be plan A, B and C in the coming season.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View Posthttp://spielverlagerung.com/2016/07/...pps-liverpool/
Excellent piece (very long) on Klopp's tactics with us.
3 centre mids seems excessive especially when with the ones with not being collectively good enough defensively or chipping in offensively.
Leaving room for only 2 of Lallana, Coutinho Firminio and Mane, Atleast Mane has shown a bit more positional sense then the others staying wide. Hate watching our 2 lads behind the striker drift in and make it dead easy to defend against, simply block the box and dont worry about the flanks.
Its funny for all 3 friendlies we have played better in the second half with lesser players like Kent and Woodburn simply giving us width that those better players dont.
Need to play 2 solid CM's, 3 of the above. 1 number ten and the keep the other 2 lads wide. We'd have an extra creative player on the pitch and a better attacking structure, pretty sure that is similar to Klopps most successful time at Dortmund.
Its going to be very interesting to see what our first choice 11 will look, lots of depth in those mid/forward areas but much of a muchness

Totally agree. I only ever want to see one of Coutinho, Firminho and Lallana on the pitch at any one time in the league. If two or all three play then its boring as fck and so predictable to defend against.
Winjaldum is a different beast. He passes through the middle but instead of standing around Benteke style he goes straight to the penalty spot for a return chip/through ball or a cross, even a mis-hit one. Drags defences and defensive mids far more out of position.
Personally I'd always go with 4-2-3-1 with the 3 being Mane, Coutinho and Origi. Sturridge or Ings up front as the lone striker. One tit for another.

Saw that loads in the game against Wigan, very refreshing!

I think superior fitness was the difference in the second half of these games.Originally posted by Liverpool View PostI'm not a fan of that set up with our squad, and having been the 3 friendlies so far its very clear that formation will be plan A, B and C in the coming season.

He's a master of hindsight and cherry-picking of evidence. He does have some good points to make, partcuarly on recovery times in-between games, but his arrogance and cherry-picking doesn't half grate at times.

"This is my squad now," Klopp said. "After all the transfers…this time it is my team. There are probably no players here anymore I don't want. There are no signings I didn't want, we have not sold anyone I didn't want to.
Klopp is not making any predictions ahead of the new season but he says there will be "no excuses" that he needs more time to build a squad capable of challenging for silverware.
"I'm not afraid of making decisions - it's part of the job," Klopp added. "I am happy with my team now - all I can say is we will be a challenger.
... There you go. LB or not, we're supposed to challenge next year. Personally I don't see it, because I don't rate our squad particularly, but then again I'm just some guy on the internet.

For what it's worth I'm with you on this one, I don't think we will challenge either but I think we will improve on last year.
LB is a worry big time and I can see us doing the same stupid **** and conceding daft goals through poor marking and horrific goalkeeping.
Klopp obviously knows the team far better than the likes of you and I but I am concerned about the mental strength of some of our lot. There's still a distinct lack of physical strength in this team too and the bulk of them are a bunch of ****ing botteling cunts so it wouldn't surprise me if we have another winless season.Last edited by Slinky Skills; 30-07-16, 05:39 PM.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football.
