I love the guy but that only lasted a few months, I remember him bossing the **** out of teams before that injury at Chelsea.
True DMs who can play are hard to find - for us to play one the balance of our midfield needs to change so I'm not sure if that is in Jurgen's evolutionary plan? The midfielders we have been linked to are more box to box players rather than DMs - Dahoud + Zielinski (who is doing well at Napoli btw).
In the ideal world we'd have:
DM/Regista - Parades, Geis - Hendo just isn't good enough at moving us forward against teams that sit in.
BBM - Hendo, Can, Gini could all do this I think although Dahoud would be great in this role as he carries the ball so well.
AM - Lallana (when he scores and assists), Coutinho, Brandt
When you look at the balance of Masch, Alonso & Gerrard - outside of Xavi, Iniesta + Busquets it is hard to think of a better midfield in the past 20 years.
