It's all relative though........frankly given our first half of the season and limited amount of games, not to mention the continued under-performance of some of the big hitters, CL qualification is a minimum.........that's without even mentioning that our record against the traditional top sides has been excellent, and is frankly the stuff of potential champions.
We had our injuries, but then so did everyone else, and we had ample opportunity to address potential failings in the transfer window which we did not.

I think most people's assertion that we are stumbling over the line is completely reasonable. It will certainly not be the same clear focus next season when we find ourselves with the CL to worry about as well.

FWIW, I don't believe the phrase 'over-achieving with this squad' necessarily applies to us under these circumstances.

Don't disagree. Finishing 4th would be overachieving- but only by virtue of Scum & Arse underachieving if you know what I mean. That having been said, it's been an awful long time since we had 70+ points I'm sure.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Oh......don't get me wrong, I'm delighted in general with Klopp's direction with the team, plus going into the 'big games', I'm as confident of a positive result as I can remember in long time.
No-one has a divine right to win every game, but when I look back on some of the failings we've brought on ourselves this season, especially in games we've dominated, it really rankles me that we've not fully capitalized on situations that have presented themselves in order to strengthen our hold in the top positions and separate ourselves from an annoying run-in.

We all know there are areas that need to be addressed this summer, but we're going to find it a challenge next season if we don't recruit in the right manner.

We're third however it's been a pretty **** season, fairly certain even you could see that.

We're not guaranteed to get a CL place, admire your positivity but we're shooting ourselves in the foot every time.

To me third place isn't good enough and being knocked out of most competitions early on and losing or drawing at home to ****e week in week out certainly isn't good enough. It may be for you but it isn't for me or the majority of folk that support LFC.

I think if he can get in more players he wants during the summer, that we will see him build a team that better highlights his talents as a manager.

He is not an immediate impact style of manager, based on what he did in Germany, and seems to take a season or two to get his ideas in place and then he builds on them.

If he can bring in some quality players with hard/strong mentalities this summer, I have a feeling that we could be a ******* team to play against for almost any team in the league next season.

I think his subs this season frustrates more than just us though. I think the man himself is frustrated too and knows that he has to bring in the right sort of quality in the summer to ensure not only options from the bench but quality from it as well.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Last season we were 7th and 8 points of 4th after 36 games I think you need to re-define a pretty **** season.

This season we have proved playing against the very best of the division we are superior even with players who are not as good as the opposition, We have also proved we can't beat cannon fodder and teams who park the bus. I will go into next season with increased confidence with a good transfer window knowing that ( or hoping that) that flaw can be sorted. Surely that we are a match for the best must be some small consolation in our ****ty 3rd position for you.

In Klopp I trust And if we get CL it maybe a blessing in disguise as this CL run definitely is not papering over any cracks

                    There is progress.

It increasingly looks like an error to not buy in Jan but if we get the top 4 and then buy well in the summer arguably the gamble worked. There is no guarantee that buying in Jan would have worked either.

If we don't get top 4 then the gamble looks bad.

Overall we will see in a week or two where we end up. Hopefully some of those linked will come and if so it looks like a demonstrable increase in quality to develop the squad.

If running a football club or being a manager was easy then we would all get of our arses and be doing it.

This! And also, Klopp tried to get players in january but getting a good player midseason is not easy.
We're third and United fifth. Klopp is God.

Do you buy someone to get you over the line in Jan that may not be with you long. We will soon know the answer. Either way is a gamble. I think we need to understand the reasons for injuries and make sure we are not subject to so many.

4 times we have played Southampton this season and I'm fairly sure we haven't scored a single goal.

That's not right on any level for a team trying to finish in the top 4. How has klopp not managed to figure out what to do? In fact this performance was the worst of the lot arguably. His tantrums on the side lines almost seem as scripted as his substitutions. He's lacking some serious tactical nous imo.

Next season is massive for him. If we scramble across the line and get champions league footie, god knows how we'll cope with the amount of games. We need some top drawer players to give us half a chance.

To be fair to Klopp it must be the first time in a long while that a team had zero shots on target against us. I'm a bit relieved we're looking more solid at last tbh.
