If we did sign Keita (which was our intention, regardless of if it goes through or not), we'd potentially be looking at a bench of Karius, Robertson, Lovren, Lallana, Wijnaldum, Can, Sturridge. Then a resereve bench of Ward, TAA, Klavan, Grujic, Woodburn, Solanke, Origi.

Obviously is would be great if we could do a City or Chelsea and go and spend £30m+ to strengthen our bench, but that's not going to happen here and to suggest that Klopp hasn't addressed the issue is clearly not true at all.
You have made a few assumptions here. That no one becomes injured or unavailable (bear in mind Sturridge and Henderson have had long term injuries these last few seasons). That we sign Keita which looks dead to me. That we sign VVD as Lovren has been benched.

I'd be amazed if Lallana, Wijnaldum, Can feature on our bench in any PL game [at the same time].

i remember some (me included) marvelling at the strength of our bench early in the season

It's in response to your Klopp hasn't addressed the issue point though. Klopp has identified the players he wants to improve the first team and add more depth to our squad. He hasn't said, 'I'm happy with what we've got, if the players keep their chins up next year we'll win the league'. Whether we sign them or not is a different argument altogether, that's out of Klopp's hands, but he's identified where he thinks we need to improve and told the club how he hopes to do this.

Maybe if you explain what you are expecting of the manager or what your suggestions are, I'd maybe understand a bit better?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Well he hasn't addressed the lack of depth, yet. He's addressed the lack of speed that was highlighted when Mane left but that's all that has been done. I don't think the others two are good enough although I may be proven wrong on Solanke, in time.

So I've added suggestions as back up to Keita in that thread but I'm not a scout. We do need a DCM/CM and a CB, the latter being a priority. I'd be happy enough with that this summer to be honest as the approach of improving the first team is one I can buy into. But two additional players will still require a bit of luck regarding injuries. If I was greedy I'd add a first team left back as well.

So two quality signings doesn't seem too far away but we've done this dance before as early as this January with Teixeira and ended up trusting the squad and that turned out a big gamble with us scraping fourth.

Others would argue we need a striker and a GK but I don't think we can go all city so I reckon they'll be priorities next year as well as a left back.

But yeah, summary is we're short atm, ideally we should have had our business done, especially at CB so that can gel a little before the start of the season.

Chrunalism is a ****ing great way to describe this constant need to rehash the same stuff over and over again.

Ok, that makes a bit more sense. Right now I agree that we still have work to do, but I am still optimistic that we’ll get at least one of the big deals done . I said at the start of the summer if we signed Salah and VVD I’d be delighted and I stand by it. Keita would obviously be a massive cherry on top.

The person further up that said the word Chrunalism. Not a poster, more to do with commenting on the way papers and websites want to write about nothing,

Ah, yeah, it was me... it's spelt, churnalism.

A cursory glance of newsnow is grim, sport journalism is just about firing **** out as quick as you can with clickbait headlines. The mail are one of the worst at it but there are almost all at it.

Is that an ad for a card in which he actually sings your name, rather than "your name"? if not it's awful, if yes I can't wait for all the people with names like cuntflaps and bellend to have their birthdays...

I had to watch that a few times just to make sure it was real. WTF?! That is pure cringe.
                          Really?

                              Nah, I don't think they're personalised. It's a generic birthday greeting

Could you imagine Alex Ferguson doing that? Or Mourinho?
Least Kloppo has a sense of humour and doesn't take himself too seriously.
                                Really?
