Given the fact you could spend 300m and manage almost perfectly and still not win there are never any guarantees.

But if he gets us in a couple of title races right to the line win or not he's fulfilled his promise in spirit imo.

No dramas with what he said.

Ah ....I dunno, I suspect he meant the PL, and might even have been answering it from a question around that. Can't remember.

and frankly, he'd want to be delivering at least a cup over the next 4 years - or we'll ride him out town on a rail, just like the last guy.

No...no dramas, just the one thing that could have been left out IMO, but I'm not overly fussed. Just no need to make an unnecessary rod for one's back, but in truth, he will be expected to deliver regular CL, at the very least, especially if backed to the same degree Brendan was.

If you watch the press conference he says something like if we are here in 4 years time I'm confident I we will have won the title at least once, if not maybe Switzerland.

He's signed a 3 year contract. Basically he was saying if he hasn't won the title in 3 years he won't be our Manager anymore because he'll have been fired/quit.

Pretty much calling it how it is. Most of us will have given up on him if he hasn't won the title for us in 3 years.

Somewhere else in the press conference I remember him talking about the squad and saying we had 4 and a half strikers.

Who the **** is the half striker? :klopplol:

I loved Rafa but my love for Jurgen is already at another level...the way he took the piss out of the journos and his "I am the normal one" comment, just sheer class!!

                Possibly. Or Mario lol.

Anyway he seemed happy to have so many striking options.

It's going to be interesting to see how much he adapts his tactics to suit the squad and how much he tries to make players adapt to fit into his strategy.

4.5 strikers is a lot of strikers in the squad of you only want to play with 1.

I cannot wait, I'm so excited. I was excited when Dalglish took over for the second time but other than that I cannot remember being so excited about a new Liverpool manager.

When I was younger their was nothing to get excited about because you knew it would just be business as usual and from Sounness forwards their was nothing to be excited about.

I didn't know anything about Benitez or Houllier to get excited about them and the rest. Well, they weren't Klopp!

For the first time in 5 years I wouldn't jump at the chance to have Rafa back.

Someone said to me the other day that it feels like the hangover from the Rafa years has finally cleared.

No it was in Liverpool last night apparently. The bus in the background is definitely a Liverpool city bus.
