“I'd like to feel better and say 'come on, let's have three days off celebrating' and things like this, but we don't have time for it.

“We have to analyse our game and try to find out what we can use for Southampton and what we should change.

“Then we fly back from Southampton and fly to Newcastle – we are on the road next week.

“It's really difficult. But we feel good, of course. The boys feel good.
He really does seem to have an issue with the number of games.
Doesn't he have a young family? I imagine it's no fun.

Since he has taken over in 10 games we have kept 4 clean sheets, we have only been beaten once and only conceded more than 1 goal once

The improvement in the Lg over Rodgers in a 6 Game period is very obvious

Brendan Rodgers Record last 6 Lg Games
1 Win, 3 Draws, 2 Defeat, 6 Points, 1 Clean Sheet, Conceeded more than 2 goals 3 games

Jurgen Kloop Record last 6 lg Games
        3 Win, 2 Draws, 1 Defeat, 11 Points, 2 Clean Sheets , Conceeded more than 2 goals 1 game

You could say fixtures aren't comparable. But then you remember 2 of Klopps wins were away to Chelsea and city so that defence doesn't work

He's an upgrade ... everybody said it .. now everybody can see it ... I think at the time we needed Rodgers.. but he gave Klopp a very good group of players to work with ... 2 o 3 quality additions to that group of players and we have quite a team on our hands

You'd have a hard time convincing the players at present that they don't deserve to be regular starters in our strongest side, such is the confidence levels that Klopp has instilled.

There's a Stat somewhere which States that the main difference since he's come in, is that we are more willing to take risks with our passing in the final third. Our possession in the final third is on average 68% compared to 80% under Rodgers.

Rodgers did some good things but I don't agree with that assertion, that he gave Klopp a very good group of players to work with. It does seem that most of the good players were signed by the committee, Moreno, Sakho, Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge and Can at least. Don't know about Clyne and Ings.

Where ever Rodgers goes next he needs to change his recruitment policy quite a bit, if he sorts that out along with his defensive aspect and gains a bit more humility he could maybe get another shot at a big team, maybe Spurs after Pocchetino leaves them.

the players under rodgers must have been **** scared to lose possession cos in the post match debrief they would be made.to stand up and say sorry sir.
you dont win **** all if you dont pass it to team mates so no big deal losing possession if youre trying to set up team mates. We now have plenty of players forward and are much better placed to win it back quickly while still in the final third.

We did take risks a lot during the title chasing season. Think it's down to the players he had available.

I think we all know that mate.
since the suarez departure we have been mostly toothless and lacking any bite.

rodgers sapped all the love of football from the players, more concerned about stats than having a cutting edge and getting stuck in.

Don't agree with that at all. I think Klopp is doing exceptionally well with a lot of average players.

Interesting. I imagine our high press and field tilt look a little different too, but those are harder to quantify.

If anyone's interested in the Rodgers/Klopp statistical schism, this table at Objective Football has shot stats broken down by manager. Most numbers are improved under Klopp, naturally, but only marginally and not showing anything systemically different. Shots against is a little lower, but not much; shots for is up a bit. The big difference is PDO, which is a combination of save percentage and conversion rate. It's usually thought of as a measure of luck, which isn't totally accurate; it's just that its components are very inconsistent and usually regress to the mean. (It is entirely possible to game PDO, and good teams and good managers do so.) Within PDO, the big difference is conversion rate. It went from laughably bad and totally unsustainable under Rodgers (19%, was always going to rise eventually) to quite high under Klopp (37%). Normally I'd expect that to fall, but Klopp has a history of sustaining this sort of overperformance. Part of it probably comes from higher quality chances as a result of being more risky in the final third. Part is probably just the extra 5% or so Klopp usually gets out of his players.

I also did a quick calculation of Team Rating, which is a metric built on shot ratios intended to be a holistic indicator of performance, and which is roughly as predictive as xG models - I have us rising from fifth in the league under BR to third under Klopp, behind City and Arsenal.

Just confirmation that we've been a lot better under Klopp, which isn't surprising, and that it looks like we're for real - we have every chance of challenging. The majority of the difference seems to be in doing a better job of getting the goals our performances have deserved - more directness around the box certainly plays into that - and the encouraging thing is that we still have a lot more room to improve there.
