I'm convinced Garth Crooks doesn't actually think any of this **** he says. His brain isn't involved in conjuring these thoughts, he just plucks them from nothing. They're out there floating on the breeze and he feels compelled to waft them our way, much like a teenager would with malodorous guff.

His tactics in England are absolutely fine. Nothing wrong with them. Changing to 9 defenders and one striker will still see us concede ridiculous goals. It's 99.9% personnel and .01% tactics.

Which makes the summer a 100% farce.

He clearly recognises that there is a problem, its just a pure failure to bring in quality players to resolve it.

He wanted to replace Mignolet with Karius but it didn't work out.

He wanted to replace Moreno with Robertson but Moreno stepped up, fair play.

He brought in Matip and Klavan to improve the CB position and tried all summer to sign Van Djik but the club and him dropped a bollock.

Klopp’s the right man for Liverpool but he has shown too much loyalty in his players. Mig, Lovren, Wijnaldum - not good enough. Can, Henderson, Firmino (as a striker) - squad players. None of these players would make City’s bench. They wouldn’t get into the first teams of Spurs, Utd or Chelsea. We need much better.

I think that's a bit harsh tbh. I'm not sure Klopp are particularly loyal to Mignolet or Lovren as they're not his signings and he's clearly wanted others that just havn't happened. But he's got to work with what he got, and he can hardly go out and question their ability when he needs them, what good would come of that?

The question maybe is if Klopp is to picky?

I personally think Wijnaldum is a fine squad player, can cover a lot of positions and we need good players outside the starting 11. And while they're not perfoming as they can I think the rest you mention are fine for a top 4-6 club, but there are something wrong in terms of balance at the moment rather than any of the individual players in midfield.

Klopp knows we need better player but the better players haven't been signed, we're **** at transfers, simple as.

I think the thing we are all assuming here is that Klopp asked for VVD or no-one. That seems unlikely to be honest.

However, we don't know that for sure, for all we know he put forward a list of defenders and we ****ed up on them because the club and Edwards focused too heavily on VVD.

Klopp doesn't handle the negotiations etc, he is busy with pre season.He equally can't break ranks and say that the club ****ed up and left him short. Its annoying because we absolutely ****ed the VVD signing and that was nothing to do with Klopp.

I thought it had everything to do with Klopp? Didn't he meet him without consent from Southampton?
