13 games in 44 days when the international break is done

Mane, Lallana, Coutinho coming back in just in time.

It was after this stretch last season we completely collapsed, interesting to see how Klopp handles such a crucial time, will he rotates a bit more? He has players in most positions to so.

Up into second keeping the gap to city at 10-12 with them to come to Anfield in Jan and top of CL group, or seventh and Europa league to come. I don't think either of those scenarios would surprise me tbh.

I think he's already managed the season so far to cope with this up coming pile up, we're nowhere near top of the running stats this time around. Its evident to see our pressing has taken a step back and we're a much different side.

Not thought of it from that angle, more to tighten up at the back and not having lallana or enough pressing players at the top to do it. I can't see us going back to it though.

It is a concerning number of games but I think we have more players in key positions at our disposal now, but I also think our tactics are more diverse so we ought to be able to use the squad more (and tire them out less). I'm more relaxed about it than I was before, but time will tell I guess.

If we qualify for the knock out stages and challenge the top 3 I'll be very happy.
          Really?

I was amazed when I saw how far we had fallen down that list.

Its clearly a tactical choice, presumably to protect the defence witha more solid bank of midfielders... shame as it was very effective last season.... even though we burned out.

I never did get to read that article as it must have been posted after a poor result and I was avoiding football news.

Anybody got a link to it (the article about our drop off in pressing)?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It was not just pressing, but distance run by team and player.

IIRC we were top this time last year, where as we are average at best this year.

The unusual thing is that you would expect less running with our possesion stats last season.

I think thats why we were utterly exhausted last season.

So it could be argued this is s sensible tweak to the system.

Especially with the most taxing time of the season coming up, games thick and fast.

Looking at the table 4 points off second , good run and we could be firmly in the top four

Yeah we were top with Bournemouth 2nd I believe.

Perhaps we're aiming for a strong finish because we blew our load early last year and had to grind our way to 4th place.

                      Get well soon boss....

Jürgen Klopp to miss Wednesday’s training session

Jürgen Klopp has attended a hospital appointment today as a precautionary measure, after feeling ill.

He is being assessed by doctors and will be absent from training on Wednesday as a result. There are currently no plans for Jürgen to remain in hospital beyond his appointment and he will therefore return home this evening; however, he may require further check-ups in the coming days.

The club urges that the privacy of Jürgen, his family and other patients is respected while attending hospital visits.

Odd one - why not just say he was ill and didn't attend training? Why say anything at all?
                        Really?

Because if they don't some fans will think he's gay if he's not in the training photos.

There is always the chance someone saw him at the hospital a took a photo,so easier to come clean and ask for privacy plus there is the fact he will be going back to the hospital in the coming days for other tests.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
