Just watched the first episode. I enjoyed it. Covers his career in Germany a bit and goes over his time at Liverpool with the big focus on his last season.
Good insights from Curtis Jones on his time under Klopp.
The emotions came back at the start and it made it very weird thinking this all started just over a year ago and here we are now clear at the top.Comment

Let's have a debate (there's no football to watch so might as well fill the time with a pointless discussion).
The anti FSG brigade often say that Klopp overachieved given the meagre resources handed to him by our tight owners. He was solely responsible for the achievements, performing incredible miracles, turning water into wine.
But yet Slot has come in and seemingly improved results with the same squad.
So...
Did Klopp in fact, underachieve?
Is the squad that we have actually better than anyone realised?
Could any half decent manager come in and do what Slot has done with this group?Oh I don't know.Comment

I think Klopp is a world class football manager/coach and under him we saw the sort of achievements that tend to come with having an individual of that level.
What skews things a lot is the Man City financial doping factor. Remove them from each season Klopp was with us and suddenly we are dominating the PL more often than not on top of reaching domestic and European finals.
For me Klopp did not under achieve at all. He built a team that collectively matched the level Klopp was at, he got the sort of results that reflected both the quality of the team and also that of the manager/his coaching staff.
I also think that if we are to try and put every great achievement onto Klopp's shoulders (those shoulders also reflecting the on and off pitch teams at the club) then all the on pitch failures go there as well, and I think Klopp would probably be the sort of man that would agree with that line of thinking.
What might be a better question, regarding where you were going with Slot, is have we managed to replace a world class manager by finding one that was right on the cusp of becoming one himself? The short term indications strongly suggest that we have.
And what does that (potentially being able to find two world class managers in a row that are able to create top class team units without the need to overspend) say about how good FSG (or rather those they have placed in charged of such recruitment) are as owners?I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Klopp had to start the rebuild along with Edwards and his team. I get this debate will be a topic but it’s such a different situation you can’t really compare them.
Plus the place the club was in then compared to now. That behinds the scenes team and structure hadn’t had the chance to establish what they could do and Klopp embarced the setup and let them do their thing and he benefited from it.
A mutual trust allowed everything to finally click for the owners. Their goal was what is happening now. However comes in keeps things flowing with as little disruption as possible and the academy filling the squad with either first team players or squad players meaning you can focus the incomings on quality over quantity.
It takes time to get there but it’s all looking good longterm and the academy standard has risen in the last few seasons which will be a massive plus. Not just what is used but the benefits you get from making more money from it too.Comment

Just saw this, some interesting stats. I didn’t listen to what they said I only wanted to see the stats. Possessions and shots both well below last seasons numbers and the goals from breaks has more than doubled.
