Philippe Coutinho Post-LFC

When he was in the team and we played the more physical sides, I always felt like we were half a man short on the pitch and vice versa with the less physical games I felt like we had a half a man extra.
Based on this and there being more physical teams in the PL I dont think we will miss him that much....
I also feel that Mane was more effective when cout wasnt playing

He would have been out for three weeks anyhow with his thigh problem.
So we would have had the same problem

Those stats say the opposite though?
Anyway I don't think we'll get top 4 without a really good replacement.

add to that mane having a run of poor form and the rest of the midfield hiding whenever possible i think his loss will be massive.
the only possible plus points is the arrival of vvd and possibly others that will plug other holes and lessen the loss of phil, the figlio di puttana.

Liverpool with and without Coutinho in 2017-18 prem games.
Liverpool have picked up more points per game without Coutinho this season than with him
without ..... with
13 Games 9
6 Wins 6
6 Draws 2
1 Losses 1
46.20 Win % 66.70
1.8 Points per game 2.2

It's a case of how capable you think that midfield is I guess.Originally posted by dww View PostIt happened at a time when we have a decent squad capable of doing well without him. We got a lot of cash. It went about as well as it could have done for us I think.
It's definitely not worth getting worked up over. We could have held onto him and he could've done his ACL and we'd be in the same position. He was always going to go - it's just weakened us considerably for the second half of the season, I just hope we invest the money that's needed into the squad and we might be better for it.
He was crucial to our style so i expect we'll drop off in terms of goals scored and become less of an attacking force.
