He's looked a 15m signing lately. Needs to take his next opportunity.

Wasn't aware of the injury, but it's now end of Feb and he hasn't contributed a lot since Utd at home. Just seems to have dropped back to the level most thought he would be when he arrived. He came in and looked an awesome signing.Originally posted by labourRed View PostHad a stomach injury and rarely played, strange comment.
The injury could well be part of the reason. That's why when he next gets chance he needs to take it. Most of Klopps signings get better as the season goes on, he is looking the exception.
Fekhir in the run in would have been ace.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Yeah, stomach injuries are one of the worst. This is in the core of the body and all movement goes through this. Its a major restriction performance wise. When he is fit again all will be goodOriginally posted by labourRed View PostHad a stomach injury and rarely played, strange comment.

Anyone think it's a bit strange Shaq been frozen out, is he carrying an injury? Players like Sturridge & Origi getting in ahead of him when they've barely played. He's the only option in midfield that can pick a pass and in games where teams are literally happy to sit deep and go compact surely is he not by far the best midfield option in our current squad?

I think 'trust is massively important for Klopp I.e. trust in a player knowing the system. This is why Hendo, .Milner at are playing ahead of Naby and Shaq- he trusts them to follow Instructions more.Originally posted by danperkins View PostAnyone think it's a bit strange Shaq been frozen out, is he carrying an injury? yeah was saying the same to mate yesterday but we are a better attacking side with him in there & Burnley will do exactly what others have done.. sit deep, counter, long balls cutting out our midfield. I pray that we don't go with the same stagnant midfield. Also think Gini suffers massively when Henderson plays. Fab was woeful vs Everton but he's a starter every week for me, Gini had drop off too but starter imo too... Hendo not so much.

Wijnaldum to me is a total enigma, whether Henderson plays or not he has the propensity to completely disappear from a game and not be involved in either the defensive or attacking side of thingsOriginally posted by danperkins View Post

He was shocking at Old Trafford and the same v Everton
Also another thing I would add is that Henderson gets so much **** for being negative and passing sideways or backwards and Wijnaldum is guilty of this to the same extent and yet he will often get a pass from the fans
Theres a definite bias against Henderson imoBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

In fairness to Gini though, VVD aside our best player in the first half of the season. People forget that Gini had a great scoring record for PSV and a very decent one for Newcastle before he came to us:
14-15 season for PSV: 19 goals
15-16 season for Newcastle: 11 goals
6 Goals & 9 Assists in his first season at LFC
The last 2 seasons Klopp has drop Gini back and made him change his game. It's crazy 4 goals & 1 assist in 2 seasons now playing that deeper role. He is much more talented than given credit for and not just a workerhorse but what can he do if he has been told to play a certain way. He is the one that I thought would break through the lines and get forward out of our midfield but I watch him now infront of goal and it's like he can't even shoot anymore... legs go like Bambi ffs. I like Gini, cracking player imo that's game has been hampered by the change in position & you can't help but feel he is being wasted. I suppose you could apply the same thing to Henderson who was racking up a decent number of assists before he also was pushed back. 4 Goals 8 Assists in 4 seasons whereas in 14-15 season playing in more advanced role he got 7 Goals 12 Assists. Once again, wasted ability imo.Last edited by danperkins; 05-03-19, 02:50 PM.

Gini is great.
Henderson is great too. He does get so much **** but you know what, I think that at least he gives so much ****in effort and doesn't hide at all. I like the fact that he talks a lot on the pitch.
Milner is a solid 7 out of 10 every day of the week as well. Plus his versatility can't be underestimated.
And I think that Fabinho can go and become the best midfielder in the league.
But of the 4 above, only 2 should play in a midfield 3 at any one time. Great that we have the good squad - and to be honest if Keita gets better and Oxlade comes back strong, I don't think we even need to add to our midfield next season (although I wouldn't mind Grugic being given a go)

I think we need another top quality creative midfielder regardless. I'd love to see an attacker, midfielder and two defenders come in.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostGini is great.

Its not a grain strain he suffers from inflammation in the pubic area.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostOut of swiss squad due to a groin strain. Might go some way to explain lack of minutes playing recently although if he's not fit why make the bench._____________________________________
