Yeah there was one shot he had there yesterday with his right boot, he didn’t hit this one first time but shuffled to get room but the power he generated was incredible I thought.

Do find it interesting how all our attacking buys under Edwards have certain stats in common and have very similar % for their direct running stats, chance creation stats, chance attempted stats, and their combined open play XG/XA per game stat and their open play goals per game vs XG stat.
All of Mane, Salah and Jota pretty much matched the other in those pre Liverpool, and all three had a goal return that was the same as or less than their XG stats, so all had stats that showed they were scoring high in the individual attacking stats that suggested a better team their final product stat (the XG stat) would increase when surrounded by better players.
The stats are weighted depending on the quality of opposition/league and also for things like CL/EL games and international games.
Of course the eye test would have to be passed as well by all those players as well as evaluating personalities/character.
Very baseball like at times in how it is done, and quite interesting to read old and not so old interviews given by Edwards and others in our set up when they talk about it in a little but not too much detail.
Interestingly some of the players being mentioned in relation to being linked with us in recent times actually have very similar stat results to Salah, Mane and Jota pre Liverpool.
Neto, Martinez, and Isak to name three that seem to tick a lot of the same boxes based on the numbers and no doubt our scouts have access to far more detailed stats that was we schmucks can find online.
Guys like Haaland and Mbappe are off the charts statwise and are the obvious names for any big club to look at, but our scouting seems to go for the guys whose underlying stats score high in certain areas with a decent but potentially underperforming (compared to the other attacking stats that is) open play goals vs XG stat.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I'd really like us to sign Neto in the summer. Wolves are the new SouthamptonOriginally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostIt was and it again highlighted the stats Edwards and co use to make a short list of attacking players.

Both are upgrades on Origi if he moves on, we need options for when plan A fails.Originally posted by banditos View PostThey won’t be looked at Kev. Both too old for our transfer policy and neither fit our style of play. Klopp’s LFC don’t do big target men strikers. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

Wouldn't want LFC going anywhere near Weghorst.Originally posted by kev776 View PostBoth are upgrades on Origi if he moves on, we need options for when plan A fails.
Just not technically good enough and quite slow.
He's a good finisher but just can't see him fitting in.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!
