I think Gordon would thrive for us, but I'd prefer to keep Diaz if possible though.

Yeah it seems inevitable that Diaz is on his way & id take Gordon for the right price.Originally posted by Sus View PostWhy? I mean, he has stupid hair and a punchable face but think he would be a good addition across our front line (is he homegrown as well?)
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Stats wise Gordon had about half the number of PL goals as Diaz and a similar number of assists, and I suspect he would cost more than we would get for Diaz. Not sure it's a great deal from our point of view.Originally posted by rudedog View PostGordon would be a downgrade on Diaz, there must be much better value out there
Also I suspect Newcastle don't want to sell us two of their best players, if we want one I would focus on Isak if there is real interest. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Think one of the main differences between Diaz and Gordon might be that Diaz will be seen as having reached his peak in terms of how good he can become whereas Gordon might be looked at as a guy with the potential to go up a level or two upon what he has shown.
What does catch the eye with Grodon is the way he links with playmakers. Might be that with Wirtz onboard that Gordon is seen as a great foil for him.
Not been paying any attention to the sort of money that is being rumoured to be wanted for him though. How much is the rumoured price versus the rumoured 70 to 80m for Diaz?I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

We know the price for Gordon - it would be just cash swap IMO for Diaz -I make no apologies, this is me

Some great points alright. Yeah that 4 years age gap is a big plus. It's a hard one to guage imo, prices quotes do seem similar ish but lot of speculation so hard to pin down a real figure.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostThink one of the main differences between Diaz and Gordon might be that Diaz will be seen as having reached his peak in terms of how good he can become whereas Gordon might be looked at as a guy with the potential to go up a level or two upon what he has shown.

I do like Diaz but I do find him insanely frustrating on times but also incredible to watch sometimes.

I don't like Gordon's diving, but maybe we can get him to focus on scoring more goals or assists rather than trying to get a penalty. Maybe Mo thinks differently tho
He's a red. He's a scouser. He's best mates with Curtis, so he can't be as much of a ****** as we made him out to be when he was at Everton can he?
The Blue Fume will be off the charts too, so that's a big plus.
He might not have to work as hard as Diaz with Kerkez behind him and Wirtz inside. We are here for a good time not a long time....

I do think PSR comes into play here for Newcastle - They bank circa £50m PSR profit at £75m - We gain - £30m on Diaz - If Diaz goes for £70m - Played a blinder TBH.Originally posted by Cerbie View PostI don't like Gordon's diving, but maybe we can get him to focus on scoring more goals or assists rather than trying to get a penalty. I think Gordon is a bit of a ******. I also think that about Curtis Jones so the fact that they are mates doesn't really matter imo.
One thing about Gordon though is that he seems to work his bollocks off.
I can see a scenario where Kerkez and Frimpong bomb on and overlap the **** out of it. Wouldn't be insurmountable to see Gordon on the left wing and Szoboslai possibly on the right hand side - both who are very hard workers. And with maybe Mo being a box player.
So a 4231 with Mac and Grav in midfield, Gordon, Wirtz and Szoboslai feeding the Egyptian king who will be surely chasing Ian Rushs record.
