It will be weird for the players new to the club who don't have that relationship with Diogo but come in to a grief stricken changing room. Hopefully it doesn't effect how they settle.

I mentioned this the other day.

They would normally be buzzing to turn up but they would only be human if they're dreading this week.

I want to say this tactfully and maybe this is still too soon but as we are talking about transfers and in this case Diaz.A few weeks ago reflecting on the season just past we had 3 players who played CF for us last season: Jota, Nunez and Diaz. I think most of us were expecting Nunez to leave and Diaz being 50:50 to stay or go. Now if we go ahead with that plan and sell Nunez and Diaz we won't have any of the players who played that role last season.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I haven’t posted anything for a while or about Jota as I really didn’t know what to say but it’s been nice to see all the beautiful things people have said about him. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Maybe the time away for preseason will allow them to bond and share stories of the good times with Jota and what he meant to them all. It will be emotional but might let the new players open up and share stories of their own about any experiences with grief or other really difficult times they’ve been through. It could really build a strong bond and understanding with each other.

Grief can galvanise a team too - hopefully our players are getting some amazing counselling and we can do our best to honour Jota's memory.

Of course the timing of this is so sad- so young and shortly after his wedding, and of course football is so insignificant when compared to the tragic loss of life, etc.

But only in terms of the teams performance, the timing could have been worse, if it had been mid season, and we had games (at least scheduled) a few days later. The players have 5/6 weeks to come to terms with it, or at least to do so as much as possible, after a tragedy like this. I think of how professional Allison was after the untimely loss of his father. Some players may still be struggling, but it’s part of Slots job to decide who is ready to play.

One things for sure- there’ll be a lot of emotional days ahead, and anfield won’t have the jubilant atmosphere that you’d expect the first few games back, after winning the title. I’m sure more tears will be shred at the next trophy presentations etc.
              I don't tip

Im not sure about that. Its a month away, and I feel celebration is the best way to remember someone.

I’m hoping the chants will be next level and more sustained at home next season.

Lots of speculation about Diaz going to bayern or Barca, he might get his wage rise elsewhere.

Newcastle have just bought elanga from forest for 55m, so maybe Gordon's alive. Or Eze.

I seriously hope we're not in for Gordon.

                          Gordon, not Eze (too old)

Why? I mean, he has stupid hair and a punchable face but think he would be a good addition across our front line (is he homegrown as well?)
