I prefer to forget he even played for us (but he wouldn't be in the high £30m+ fees, even though wit was alot of money we paid for him at the time)

Fun fact - Christian Benteke is still Crystal Palaces record signing......9 years after signing him!!!

So although he was a disaster for us on the pitch, I think we got something like 30m back for him - which enabled us to sign Mane for similar money.

For him then to push for Benteke a couple of years later was proof that he had lost the plot imo

I actually have it on good authority that Brendan's ego got awfully large when he first joined Liverpool and it was never reined in either, same after he won the FA Cup with Leicester- a massive billy big bollocks if there ever was one.

Bit of a sliding doors moment. You have to wonder what would have happened if we had won that league. Would he have had more of a clue what do do with Bobby Firminho? Would we have even signed him? He would have got sacked eventually but would Jurgen have been available then?
