    Missed mane last night.

Diaz was ****e until the sending off last night but then seemed to come alive. His work rate is great as well

I do think our left side suffers a bit lately - Trent Hendo/Elliott and Salah have a great little triangle thing going on - since Gini left our left side looks a little blunt for whatever reason - if we had the equivalent of Virg playing right centre back I think it would open up the pitch more with a long diagonal going the other way - but yeah.. Brain fart over

Two very different players. Diaz was terrible until that moment of magic but I do think he is playing a bit too deep and that is taking away from his attacking threat. We knows by his stats that he can be a huge attacking threat. Whether that is him dropping too deep or what is asked of him in the system .... i'm not so sure. He is an incredibly talent guy, works so hard but does need a bit of fine tuning. A presence in the midfield might stop him from having to come back all the time but our midfield is poxy without Thiago.

Last night was cross, cross, cross, cross .. absolutely infuriating watching these aimless balls out into a crowded box over and over and over again. The one time one of our lads actually takes on a player and tries something different, we score. We used to start all guns blazing, teams would be terrified of us, now we slow things down, side to side and it does let certain teams get into that shape because they all know what is coming from the fullbacks. Alot of the times because of individual quality we score but I do think we are very predictable.

We are far too wasteful in the final 3rd, agree that it's too easy for the defence to soak up our crosses.
Our crossing game only works when we hit teams on the break and they are not already 20 men behind the ball. Our runners have space and then the ball arrives...
Against packed defences we need dribbles to commit defenders and create space for others.

          Torres 9 in 10
          Diaz 6 in 10

          (Salah 6 in 10, Mane 5, Jota 4)

Amazing attitude, never stops working and probing. Was on his own out there until Thiago came on.

After watching Osimhen tear us up with his crazy energy and runs in behind it made me wonder if Diaz could do something similar for us. Has he ever played as a striker before? I think he has the attributes to be a beast of a striker similar to a player like Osimhen.

Jota could then slot back in on the left as I think he links up better with Robertson anyway.

It's probably the role Nunez was brought in for, but I think Diaz could do it better.

Doubt it will happen but I'd be interested to to see it one day.

I think Diaz creates havoc. It was noticeable v Bournemouth that he seemed to be able to roam about the pitch a bit more - he seems wasted stuck out on the left.

Caused some havoc when Slack Salah went off yesterday when he was allowed to roam more

Diaz seems to stay nearer the line and is happy to go outside.
Salah mostly comes inside and he is becoming far too predictable.
They need to interchange some times and catch the defenders off balance.
We play to the other teams game plan, they know exactly what we are going to play like.
Diaz could do with starting 10 yards in from the line to draw the defender in and create outside space for himself of robbo, and also give himself the option to play short one twos and go between defenders.

Mane basically made straight line runs to the goal to put the ball in the net. Diaz is more of a mad squiggly loops all over the shop.

Nagging doubt about him being top quality.

I think so far he’s proven to be a very good player but it’s also clear he’s not at the level Mane is. Few are as Sadio is genuinely world class.

Hopefully Diaz gets there in a couple of years.

Mane is world class, Diaz has the potential to be but needs to be playing a bit closer to goal where he does the damage. His work rate and attitude are outstanding though & he does seem to have a lovely strike of a ball. He has time to improve.
