He's not great at timing his runs at the moment. Being offside is a mixture of understanding between the attacker and whoever is passing the ball. Having said that Nunez has been caught offside more than any other striker in the league so I'm not really going to lay that all at our midfield's door.

Really love his workrate and passion. He’s clearly not a shirker and he desperately wants to do well.

At the same time, he needs to put the goal numbers on the table and the time to get it right won’t be infinite.

There’ll come a point where his inability to consistently finish will end up costing him his LFC career.

We all know how fine the margins are in title races. There’ll be games against the likes of City/Arsenal where it’ll be really tight and you may only get one chance. Your striker scoring it or not can make the difference beteeen winning the league and not winning it.

Your striker has be reliable and convert chances more often than not.

Nunez has time still, but it has to start happening for him. If the situation has seen no improvement by the end of the season, I think he’ll be in last chance saloon next season.

He's doing fine. Last season if these numbers are correct, 29 games, he got 9 goals and 3 assists. Right now hes had 15 games, 4 goals and 5 assists. He's also hit the post about 40 times more than last season. I predict he'll reach 13 goals and 11 assists! You just watch!

I don’t think that’s enough for a team that wants to win the league.

What if they're all assists for Salah

The rest.. are not scoring freely.

4 in 15 is fine for Bobby role, not for out and out number 9.

He needs to improve the strike rate, we all know this..

                    I'm back in ffs.

I don't really see Nunez in the Bobby role. He's playing as a proper striker.

He's not far off because he's getting the chances, he just needs to improve his scoring rate, and time some of his runs better. It's frustrating because he's getting in the right positions and it's either his touch is letting him down or his wayward finishing. It's not like he's plodding around the pitch not able to get in the action.

Hopefully he'll kick on, especially in the second half of the season.
                        Another MASSIVE game

If he becomes more consistent with his scoring, we'll be unstoppable.

At the same time we could say something similar about Diaz, Jota and Gakpo be it goal scoring or assist getting.

                            In the PL so far

                            Salah - 11 goals and 7 assists

                            Nunez - 4 goals and 5 assists

                            Jota - 4 goals and 0 assists

                            Diaz - 3 goals and 0 assists

                            Gakpo - 2 goals and 0 assists

Seems of our front five, it Salah or Nunez are not setting up another attacker, none of the rest are doing so.

And looking at the rest of the squad our next best assist getter in the league after Salah and Nunez is Tsimikas with 3 assists
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

His desire is endearing and he seems like a top team mate - really up for the battle. But it’s all for naught if he cannot score clutch goals.

It felt like the Newcastle game was going to be the turning point - coming of the bench and winning a massive match for us. But it’s not happened. Yet.

They’ve all got to play their part. But as the central striker, the goalscoring burden on him is probably a bit more than that of the others’.
