Its also pretty sterile, with everything anyone does being clapped and cheered regardless. Reminds me of a North Korean rally.

I enjoy the cynical banter in the mens gane. Maybe it is toxic,and at times goes too far. But it has also changed with the times. But maybe its still a good, fun outlet for many of us. All we know so far is that we got him for a price we were willing to pay and that his old club was willing to accept.

Whether he proves to be value for money or not is years away.


Alisson was very expensive for a goalkeeper. VVD's fee was massive money for a CB. Did we overpay for them as well?

What about Diaz? He cost a lot more than what we paid for Salah.

I could get it if you said we could have gotten a more proven player for the same money, but the overpaid or not bit we cannot know until we see what he does in a Liverpool shirt over time. We have gambled on potential imo.

Nobody cares enough about it to get angry, sad, elated, tribal etc, particularly men.

But Nunez…. we needed an attacker with mane leaving, we bought one with a good scoring record and good reputation and at a good age. He hasn’t played a game yet so I see no reason for anyone not to still be on the positivity train here tbh, especially as the player he replaced seemed to have peaked already.

And no you cannot assume that I am saying we got a bargain. I pretty clearly stated that it is way too early to know whether we over paid or not. Which is just my opinion and my post was me trying to say why I thought that.

Maybe some degree of overpayment, but nowhere near to that extent.

You’re not getting a 22 year old with 48 goals in 85 appearances for a club in one of Europe’s ‘big 5’ leagues for the figures you’re suggesting there. Not unless there’s a clause or expiring contract.
