Every top flight club in the top 5 leagues should be interested in signing him on a free transfer ffs.
Seems he is looking to be paid big wages though. He was on 300k a week in the Middle East and the rumours are that he wants to be earning over 200k a week to return to England. By all accounts he priced himself out of the market for a lot of clubs already in other countries unless he drops his wage demands.
After flopping in Saudi and being deregistered in favour of his team playing a 37 yo instead of him, one would have thought taking a serious haircut on wages in the short term so that he could rebuild his rep to maybe what it was like when he played in Portugal would have been the smarter option.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He signed a 3 year contract but due to limits on the number of foreign players and the fact he hasn't been able to play for the last few months there is suggestion of there either being a release clauses or them letting him goOriginally posted by frank the tank View PostFootball is ****in mental if he is genuinely on a free transfer 12 months after they spent a reported 46m on him!!!! The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah, it was after Karim Benzema joined, his playing time was restricted due to the foreigner cap. So there is talk of contract termination by mutual agreement.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post

I know he divides the fan base, but I agree that on a free with wages that reflect a squad role, it should be a no brainer. He has EPL knowledge, he gives his all, and at 26 he has to worth a punt. Divisive but it would be funOriginally posted by SB View PostI’d have him back on a freebie without a doubt. He’s got a point to prove.

Exactly. We need someone to fill in while Ekitike recovers so it really is a no brainer, the decision that is, not Darwin.Originally posted by MosRay View Post

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Would it be a free, or is he still contracted to the Saudi club? Either way, a great option, can play the wings or thru the centre, and can spot a pass too, as show by his assists under Klopp (and a few under Slot too). Plus his tracking back and energy is contagious, and he gives the crowd a buzz!

I think we need to be careful with all of the other players we still need to buy.
Most of the purchases should be one in and one out, like we need replacements for Konate and Salah (left for no fee). We need a fullback to replace Robbo (probably Timmy). A DM to replace Endo and a rightback (as we dont have a proper one). Unlikely to get any money to fund these from sales, and this would be the minimum to have a functional squad.
IF the finances are right, then I guess we should go for it, but 200k seems a lot for a 3rd choice striker who struggled in the system we had, coming into an entirely new system.
Id prefer we went back to a false nine and inverted wingers. Its not like opposition teams figured out how to beat it. We just changed it after Firmino left, and the Mane went... and finally followed by Salah's legs. But it seems Iriola prefers an agressive target man, so who knows. We just need better wide play or there is no point
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
