Power dropped all of 3 legs in the entire match then as they shook hands at the end, Mason started swearing at Taylor. Phil was not a happy bunny. Reckon Mason called him a ****incunt myself.

The Power is a legend. I love watching darts and I always try and get tickets to the BDO World Championship at Frimley Green, alas no success yet. It's great theatre though

Mason should be honoured he's allowed on the same stage as the Power.

Mason is a grade A scumbag, talented too but still a scumbag.

I think people are starting to catch up with Taylor, the standard of others is improving all the time. But Taylor still manages to get better. His 109 average the other night against Mick McGowan was unreal. McGowan hardly got a look in after the first set and he had a 102 average.

I was quite happy to see Mardle go out early, too much showboating for my liking. Same goes for Lewis who was well beaten earlier today.

It's all shaping up for a Barney v. Taylor final.

Phil Taylor crushed Chris Mason 4-0 to reach the last eight at the PDC World Championships - then accused his fellow Englishman of verbally abusing him.

The third-round clash had been given an added edge by Mason's criticism of Taylor in a national newspaper.

But after the defending champion had powered his way into the last eight, where he will face qualifier Darren Webster, he claims Mason swore at him.

"I'm not going to put up with it," said an angry Taylor. "It was pure filth."

The 46-year-old from Stoke even talked of quitting darts, although the threat was clearly made in the heat of the moment and he is unlikely to turn his back on a sport that has provided him with 13 world titles.

Mason had turned his encounter with Taylor into a grudge match by accusing his opponent of being arrogant and materialistic.

But the Purfleet clash became increasingly bitter as Taylor took complete control.

"During the match, he was arguing with the crowd and at the end he 'effed and blinded' at me," said Taylor.

"I don't like it, and there's no need for it.

"I don't want it. If they are going to do that then don't invite me again, because I'm not going to play with people who are going to 'eff and blind' at me.

"I shook his hand and went to go and he said 'Don't effing something else'. I don't like it and I won't put up with it."

Asked what he could do about it, Taylor replied: "I'll just walk away. Keep the game - I don't want it. I'm not going to listen to filth when I'm trying my hardest.

"I've put 18 years of my life into this game and I won't be talked to like a piece of dirt.

"I won't put up with it. You can get someone else to take my place, because I'm not putting up with it any more off people like him.

"I'll see him upstairs in a minute, and we'll see how big and brave he is.

"I've had it for years off the players. It's silly.

"They don't work hard enough and they are blaming me for their mistakes. It's not my fault. I'm just a working-class man who has done well for myself."

                        Aye i watched it.

Taylor seems well within his rights if, as Taylor said, Mason gave him a mouthful of abuse once Taylor had beaten him.

Taylor is by far the best darts player there is and it appears as though alot of the other players are very jealous of his sucess.

Wouldnt say by far the best darts player, he has never played in the BBC's world title contest as far as i can see, which always appears to be a higher standard.
He will have a match and a half on his hands against Barney who is an awesome darts player and won the other veriosn of the world title 4 times.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

You havin' a laugh mate? The PDC at the Circus Tavern (i.e the Sky version) is of an infinitely higher standard than the dross served up at Frimley Green (BBC) these days.

Taylor will thrash Barney like he always does. He (Taylor) is by far and away the best player the game has ever seen. By miles and miles.

                              HAHAHAHA ......

The PDC is a much higher standard than the BDO (which incidentally starts next week at Lakeside). The BDO is incredidbly dull to watch because there aren't enough good players in it.

Back to the real darts ..... Taylor v. Barney final as expected. I can't see Taylor being beaten.
