    Australian Open

Idiot Serbs and Croats kicked off outside the stadium . Anyone see it ? They should have let them go and then shoot the last ones standing .

Pretty funny really. I’d love it if it kicked off at Wimbledon this year.

Anyone watching Nadal Vs Murray on Eurosport?

Excellent match, 2 sets all but Nadal has 4-0 lead in final set.

However, Murray has /really/ arrived, and will be a top 4 player soon.

Bottled it again though. 2-1 up in sets and had 3 break points at 3-3.

I would say more naive than bottled, he should have challenged more dubious line calls, but he will learn from this, and he still needs more "oomph", more gym work, his physique still looks "weak" compared to others.

Is that a joke?!?! Bottled it?! Against Nadal?

I don’t like the bleating, anti-English tool but he’s a hell of a player and he’s going to get even better.

I'm sorry, but he was dominating Nadal and buckled under pressure.

Like Henman before him, he doesn't believe he can beat the best players some times (and, yes, I know he beat an off-key Federer last year)

Come on disco, he's twenty, it was his first time playing the second-best player in the world, he manufactured a chance and didn't take it.

You've got to give Nadal a bit of credit - he's not second only to Federer for nothing you know.

The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

It's not the first time Murray has done this, but why should we applaud 'a good try'

If Liverpool had led 2-0 on Saturday and lost 3-2 we'd not be saying 'oh fair play, we were playing one of Europe's best teams'

Look, I have a lot of time for Murray but his psychology is ****ed at the big occasions.

Anyway, Nadal's only a year or so older and not that much more experienced.

He's young. Give him a break.

And Nadal is far more experienced. He was playing at the highest level for some time, he's won Grand Slams whereas Murray has not got far before (dunno how far he's got but the point remains valid I think).

Look, I wouldn't tell him to his face! I'm just can't 'congratulate' him on throwing a likely victory away

                        I wasn't suggesting you'd be so callous.

I didn't watch much of it but I really don't think there's any disgrace in losing to Nadal. The fact that he came close to setting up a winning position is to his credit not a reason to talk him down because he lost.

All I'm saying is that (implicit) comparisons to Trembler Tim seem unfair.

Totally agreed Neil. The kid's come a long way in a year and he's still young.

If he's not progressed in a year or two then, fine, he'll be open to a bit of stick, but it seems unfair to me to be knocking him for taking Nadal, who is bloody outstanding and in most other eras would be world no.1, to five sets.

Murray is one hell of a talent. For most of the match he was controlling Nadal today and if he'd taken his chances, he would have won that match 3-0.

Agree with Disco, he bottled. He should have won the 2nd set.
