No 75mph against a bowling machine is all I can handle.

Maybe not for us, but for most international batsmen it's not that difficult.

I'd put the Black Caps in the second tier ahead of the Windies and Sri Lanka., especially if Bond stays fit.

The Aussies rank consistent inability to defend huge totals is a strange one: maybe they should try to avoid passing 300 when batting 1st.
Remember, we're only adding to the nonsense.

Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"

I can remember them being unable to defend 434. I was there. Saw it with my own eyes

I think they are unintentionally lulling us into a false sense of security. Despite them being a bit crap at the moment IMO they will still win the World Cup.

The likes of Hayden and Lee will be fit for the second half which is fine because they will have no problem with the early group stage. By the time we get to the business end of the tournemant they could well be hitting top gear again. The likes of England and NZ stand no chance as we have probably peaked too early. In all fairness, we never stood a chance anyway.

Australia is a cricketing machine and if it suffers a set back it sorts it and comes back better. Its what they do and I'm sure they'll do it again.

                Sadly I agree.

If I had to stake my life on the winner, I'd still pick the Aussies.

Still, this sequence of defeats can only be a good thing for the other contenders and the tournament as a whole.

There is one man in the Aussie dressing room who can take a game away from any team, Ricky Ponting and I don;t think that he played in any of the games against the black caps.

he didn't. Someone else, who's name escapes me captained the side.

He's their in-form player whilst Symmonds is out. Good news if he's feeling demoralised. I don't know why Gillchrist wasn't given the captaincy in the absence of Ponting.

Is that the reason he didn't play recently though?
Anyway, if it dents Hussey's confidence then it's all good. I thought he was superb against England, a really solid performer.
