They were in it though. Unlike Brazil and Argentina they got knocked out early on by crap teams.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

      Vaughan
      Bopara
      Nixon

Bell did well enough yesterday to keep the openers spot. Flintoff HAS to open. We need someone who can go over the top in the powerplays, and it clearly ain't working for Freddie at number 6. He can have a Gilchrist-effect for us opening.

Pietersen is our best bat and your best should always come in at 3. Colly to move up to 4, and Strauss and Vaughan (two totally out of form but quality batsmen) dropped to 5 and 6.
It's obvious what's wrong with the England cricket team - too many Englishmen. The line-up for the next game has to be:

      Ed Joyce
      Kevin Pietersen
      Geraint Jones
      Graeme Hick
      Nasser Hussain
      Robin Smith
      Allan Lamb
      Mike Denness
      Basil D'Oliveira
      Owen Hargreaves
      Zola Budd

there is still a glimmer of hope for England. It looks like we are effectively in a mini league with SA, Bangladesh and the Windies to get fourth spot. It would be a remarkable turn around if we won our last games and qualified.

whats that?.....incredible, I swear I just saw a pig fly past my window....

We're far from certain of beating Bangladesh, SA will batter us and it won't matter a **** what happens against the Windies - although I think we'll beat them, as they're even worse than us.

We've lost to every single good side we've played. It's a joke.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It may be a joke but it shouldn't be a surprise. I said after our victory in Australia that it would only serve to give fans false hope.

We need a change of management. We need many changes.
