    Thought I'd make a thread to discuss it. After Saturday I won't visit any MMA forums or sites so the results don't get spoiled.

    Looking forward to Silva v Henderson. Always liked watching Henderson fight and I think he might give Silva a run for his money.

    Shogun v Overeem should be a good re-match too.

    Interesting to see how Kharitonov bounces back from his defeat at Final Conflict Absolute. I really rate the guy as an all-round fighter.

    Cant say i know many of them at all apart from Silva.
    Have seen Nick Diaz fight a few times though, he always gives a good account of himself, and is well rounded. Likes a good scrap. Was one of my fav UFC fighters.

      Seem it and one of the better tournaments of late but then again Pride is usually on the money. About 6 of those fighters would be main event fighters in the UFC as in Top Bill. Technically great fights, lots of knock outs.

      I wont go into details because I don’t want to spoil it. But needless to say this even really cements the fact that whilst the UFC is good its no Pride FC.

              Nick Diaz is a banger, hes game and he is usually very angry. Never seen a boring Diaz fight, he can mix it up on his feat with the best of them, Gomi is the Best of them. Gomi took him lightly and paid the price. Probally the best fight of the night.

                yeah, I always look out for Diaz's fights, any of the ones I have seen of him in the UFC have been full of action, He had a great fight against Diego Sanchez if my memory serves me correctly. Add to that Diaz is only a young lad too, but very experienced for a lad of his age.

                  I’d go one further and say he is the most experienced young fighter around. He had a bit of a chip on his shoulder at what he saw as a unfair attention the reality fighters were getting and the fact that he never got a decision. But with this win he has established himself as in the Big Boys Lg, this could be a turning point in his career. He is capable of kicking the **** out of anyone at that weight class.

                    He has been in some really good fights in the UFC nicey, really, Diego Sanchez is a very very awkward opponent, im not supprised he went to Japan and won however, I think he was highly regarded before that fight, he was certainly one of the ones I looked out for anyway.

                      Just watched the fight Clicky
                      Gomi sure gassed quick. Nice choke by Diaz at the end. Not a bad fight though, I wonder how much Diaz wil fight in Japan in the future.

                          Really? looking at that fight I wouldnt have guessed that was the case. Just my opinion, but that wasn't even the best fight I have seen Diaz in, he has had far tougher fights in the UFC than that Gomi fight, maybe you are right and Gomi under estimated Diaz's ability, but based on that performance, there are a few fighters in that weight category in the UFC that would beat Gomi.
                          Am I right in saying Diaz is the title holder now then?.

                            Gomi is over rated anyway. All of his fights are always non-title so that they can keep at least one of the belts on a japanese fighter. I saw his fight at rumble in the rock against BJ Penn and he was outclassed and made to look very ordinary.
                            As for Nick Diaz, he's always been one of my favourite fighters because you know any fight he'll be in will be a war, hell he fought Joe Riggs in the hospital after their fight in the UFC. That Gogoplatta that he finished Gomi with was sick, i've never seen one used successfully outside of pure grappling matches!

                              Some good fighters on display.
                              Am looking forward to the return of Rich Franklin, Renato Sobraand and Matt Hughes, all men with points to prove, be interesting to see how their confidence is.
                              Also looking forward to the return of Randy Coutoure, i'd be supprised if he beat Tim Silvia though.
