The Grand Final on Saturday between my beloved Geelong and Port Adelaide.
Jimmy Bartel from Geelong won the Brownlow Medal as best in the league.
And Geelog also won the reserves final last weekend.
We better finish of the job this saturday
How did you feel after last Friday's game Danielle? you were lucky the umpires kept you in the contest
Ive watched Geelong lose 4 grand finals (89, 92, 94, 95), if we lose this one i think i may cry.
BTW, Foxy, your mate Setanta had a decent season. He has bulked up alot, and can actually kick the ball now. Signs of hope for him yet.
C'MON THE CATTERS!!!!!

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
As a Pom abroad, I'm thinking I might try out a chant in the pub on Sat. Something along the lines of:
"When I say how long, you say Geelong!
How long?
GEELONG!
How long?
GEELONG!"
hahaha..its been a loooooooong time for us Geelong fans
you may get a few dirty looks if you sing that

How good were Geelong yesterday?? I've been following the game for neary 30 years and that was possibly the most dominant game and flawless game I've ever seen from a team. It was poetry in motion, a sheer joy...... absolutely beautiful.
Congrats to Geelong
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
I've been a Geelong fan all my life, and yesterday i was fighting hard not to tear up at the end. What a magnificent performance by the boys. After watching us lose 4 Finals in the 90's i felt sick at the thought of us losing another one....but we just came out from the start and whalloped them!!
great day.

I was lucky enough to be there thru a contact at work who gave me his ticket. Actually it came thru one of those corporates who keep 000's of tickets out of the hands of the real fans. Anyway I have a soft spot for Geelong as I ve watched a number of friends go slowly mad over the years following them. They ****ted Port, absolutely ****ted them, It was great to see cos I hate those *******s with a passion generally reserved for Man U. I think i hate Port more than Essendon (im a Carton fan.
Anyway the drought is finally over and there may be a couple more to come given the depth of the list Geelong has.
Lets hope the ending of a 44 premiership drought is a portent for number 19 for the Reds!
Congrats
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.
The Future is Red!
I keep an eye out for the Sydney Swans since they play in red and they smacked the Bulldogs in the only game I went to while in Oz.
Have to say that Ive loved watching it all on Setanta. Its been ace. Geelong smacked Port good and proper, it was like they were playing a team of snowmen they passed it about so well. When does it start again?
Its a bit weird tho, they did nothing but rave about Gary Ablett and having watched the NRL final this morning they just went on about Craig Bellamy.
Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body.
