      I'm still laughing at:

      1) all those Patriots fans who confidently predicted another Manning choker and a convincing win;

      2) anyone who ignored the Bears and kept talking up the Saints in the buildup to their game; and

      3) Reggie Bush. I wonder if he still feels like pointing at and taunting Brian Urlacher now. ****.

I'm a skins fan since they won the SB in the strike season. no affinity for either team but indy have been media-hyped for several seasons without delivering at the sharp-end. i dont like that in a team.

chicago have had an EASY ride with a piss easy schedule and 2 home games. i cant accept theryre the best in the NFC but their at the big game and I'll be rooting for them on the day.

In response to points 2 & 3 - The Saints beat the Eagles the week before - and the Eagles were widely regarded as the team with the best current form in the NFC. The Bears struggled to beat the Seahawks at home. Based on that, I can see people picking the Saints. If the Saints had played their best, they may very well have defeated the Bears. Clearly, they played poorly, and the Bears played very well. The Bears deserved to win, on this occasion. Could have argued otherwise, the week before. . . .

in answer to point 1 manning has been choking for most of the play offs. with dillon and faulk dropping out of the game the pats couldnt hold on to the ball long enough, marowney has some work to do but the potential is there, resulting in the defense wilting.

the colts won largely due to dungy taking the game out of manning's hands and using the run to great effect, added to that in the second half the colts defense really stood up and earned their place in the superbowl. manning may yet choke on the biggest stage, i dont reckon he will but it still could happen.

as for the bears-saints, well done them bears, they just earnt the right by playing to thir potential. interesting superbowl, cant wait

If Manning does choke at his biggest game of his career, anybody think that could be it for him. I mean in terms of the media pressure and NFL fans across America constantly on hos back for not being a big game player 1 in half a dozen game sis hardly anything to be proud off.

Colts to finally win something with Manning QB. The Bears will struggle if their defence is not gonna manage to stop Manning and his offence, especially if Grossman is having a stinker.

Finally indeed, its an acheivement that no Colts team has managed since superbowl V in 1970. Hopefully Manning can get his game on because if he does we have a great chance at winning.

I tend to agree with KK even on this one. The Colts will tear the Bears apart if they do not get in Mannings face early.
Grossman will bottle it & the Colts will run rampant by 3 touchdowns easily.

I thought the bears defense against the saints looked back to it's mid/late 80's best when Mike Singletary was around

I think they're going to shut the colts out.

The Bears D is key to the game and can carry the game on their own. They started off like a house on fire but faded badly and when Grossman had a stinker the Bears lost.

They had a good game against the Saints but have had a relatively easy season.

If the Bears can contain Manning then I dont think it matters if Grossman doesnt play well. Its a test for him, but he came up good against the Saints, using Thomas Jones and Benson well and could surprise again.

I take your point but from were i have been watching, its been the quality if the indy rushing game that has been the difference between this and previous playoff seasons

Yeah I should have said Manning and the running game its a tough ask though, but I am wanting the Bears to do it, its been ages since I have had this interest at this stage of the season. Mainly because up until last year the Bears were pants for many years

So, basically, you are saying that if the Bears can stop the Colts' running game AND their passing game they should win? Are you sure you don't want to add winning the turnover battle by 3 or 4 as well?
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

What I was trying to say was that Grossman doesnt necessarily have to have a good game in order for the Bears to win.
