    F1

Not a great fan of F1 TBH.

However i'm quite enjoying watching this Lewis Hamilton kid eclipse Jenson Button

I went through a period of being well into F1, during the Mansell era and for several years thereafter - when I was a kid it I always used to watch it for the crashes. Lots of people died in F1 in those days =- and the crashes were usually spectacular.

I drive but but I have no interest in engines etc, but during the Mansell period I got into the strategy stuff, who was using which tyres and all that crap. Il Leone was a boring **** off the pitch, but an entertaining one on it - I'm no petrolhead, but he was amazing.

The sport is so devoid of characters - Schumacher M is a cheat and his little bro is an arse. Hamilton? Good luck to him - but he'll be as exciting off the pitch as Hen Tinman. I'll occasionally watch these days - it is pretty boring though.

By a rookie leading the table, I am deducing that one or both of these two points are true.

              1) F1 is a piece of piss
              2) F1 results are almost completely related to how good the car is.

                Lewis Hamilton

so, how good do people think he is. 4 podiums out of 4 races, he is starting to look the real deal or is it the car?

He is the real deal, and he has a great car.

Hamilton has been groomed into the situation he finds himself in, been at mclaren since he was 12.

He will win his first race this season and is nailed on to become world champ at some point. I just hope the media leave him to concentrate on becoming one of the best drivers this country has ever produced. He could be our Schumacher, just less of a cheat. allegedly

I loathe Sports personality of the Year and motor racing but what exactly has this bloke done to deserve your prediction? I know he's lost a few races - anything else?

Seriously, it's a bit premature but then again, given how ludicrous the award is, I agree it's perfectly possible.

The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
