I don't like Warren - that's well documented.
But my respect/admiration for Chicken Joe has plummeted. He should have ****ed Warren off ages ago and gone over to America - just like Hatton has done. Instead - he's content to rack up the wins - fighting bums and wannabe's whilst Ricky headlines in Vegas.

I don't like Warren either because he's the biggest crook in boxing. I can't argue with what that because he constantly protects his fighters. The Macarinelli fight tomorrow is evidence of that. Warren called out David Haye as a potential opponent for Enzo and when Haye agreed to the fight Warren shat himself and made his excuses for the fight not happening. He knew that Haye would knock Macarinelli clean out. Instead Macarinelli is fighting a complete bum.

I don't hate Joe though. He's been badly managed but you can't argue with the fact that he's been willing to fight whatever was put in front of him. His performance against Jeff Lacy was superb and showed just what a great boxer he can be.

Hopefully this is just to raise Calzaghe's profile in the US and he'll go on to fight someone decent next time round...tbh I think it's more down to Warren than him that people are calling him a chicken. He smacked the **** out of Lacy that's for sure

The Lacy fight proved how good Chicken Joe can be - but we should have been seeing fights like that for years. Talk about Calzaghe and all people talk about is that ONE fight - when he's actually defended his title 20 times or so. What does that tell you? I wish I could argue the point with you, mainly because I love a good debate about boxing, but Eubank and Lacy are the only two big names on his record. Sure you could pick another six decent fighters from his record, but for a man who has fought 42 times in the paid ranks, and for a man who always says he wants to fight the best available, there is a serious lack of class on his record.

I would love for Fiddy to be right about it being an excercise to raise his profile in the States, but the Lacy fight should have been the fight to raise his profile over there, and that fight should have been followed with a push for a better belt than the WBO one that he holds.

Warren has huge control over his stable, but Calzaghe is in a position where he could tell him where to go, rather than signing another contract.

What the fight does show, is the frightening power that tv, specifically reality tv, has nowadays. If it were not for that medium, we would not be seeing Manfredo in the ring with Calzaghe. There has been football reality shows, boxing ones, wrestling ones, and a huge amount of music ones, where the prize is a pro contract. How many actually make it against the amount that are just yesterday's news waiting to happen?
