Jaco P - how good is Bobby Gunn?

His trainer is talking him up ahead of his fight with Enzo on Saturday.

It sounds like whoever can withstand the other fella's punches will be the winner.

    Looking forward to this one.

He is ****e. His World ranking at cruiserweight is about 155. Enzo is no great shakes himself, but he should be able to spark him early enough.

thought he was yer man from rocky 5 when I heard his name first
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Did you ever see him fight Jaco?

Seen some footage of him, that's all. He took about ten or eleven years away from boxing and then came back three years ago. Most of the guys that he has fought since coming back, are not even ranked. He has been boxing since 1989 and has had 16 fights in total. His age is also open to question, as he is listed as being 33 now, but says that is has been a pro fighter for 18 years. An awful lot of his fights are unverified also.

His record is padded with awful fighters, and he looks sloppy and amateurish in the footage.

It is on ITV4 at 7.30. Enzo will win this. He does not look much but has got one powerful punch.

Yeah I saw the time advertised Boogar - I'm looking forward to this more than the (ahem!) 'main' fight.

Why?! Macarinelli is a bum who in turn is fighting an even bigger bum. Bobby Gunn has never even beat a world ranked contender and is rated at about 115 in the WBO rankings. A hand picked opponent if ever there was one.

At least Calzaghe' opponent ha couple of names on his record. Not great names but still a couple of "ranked" fighters. It'll be an easy fight for Joe but it will certainly be a more entertaining fight than the Macarinelli one.

Enjoy the Macarinelli fight then, Les?!

Macarinelli is the biggest bum holding a world title today. He's an absolute joke. They all go on about his supreme power and how he's strong enough to KO anyone. That's bull****. For a start Macarinelli telegraphs his punches and an experienced fighter would see them coming a mile away and not get hit half as much as Bobby "MACHINE"( ) Gunn did.

I notice that fool Duke McKenzie also tried to discredit David Haye during the commentary of that fight. It's almost as if they're saying "well Enzo's to scared to fight a real world class prospect in Haye so we'll just try and pretend to the viewing public that Enzo's better...."ITV:whatever:, Macarinelli:whatever:, Frank Warren:whatever:

                              Oi !!

I was looking forward to the fight coz I knew the other fights would be cack and was hoping this would be different. I was wrong - and Jaco was right. Bobby Gunn was ****e !!!

I too heard McKenzie discredit Haye in the commentary. It was a cheap shot and does him no credit.

As for Enzo - I don't think he's as bad as you say Kurt. He does possess withering power - and if he hits you - you go. Simple.
It remains to be seen if he can withstand the shots from somebody who hits him back.
