That had the potential to be one of the best MMA Cards in History, unfortunately it only half delivered.

As far as I am concerned for the main event you have to give credit to Gonzaga, he had a game plan and it worked. I am not sure if anybody else noticed but he spent the entire fight circling to Cro Cops weak side and pushing the pace on him. Crop Cop never had a chance to settle into his game plan and was on the back foot from the first instance. The kick that took him out was special and not something you would expect coming from a guy built like a line backer. People get knocked the **** out in MMA that’s what makes it so special. There is no shame in having loses on your record, shows you are fighting the right people. Gonzo looks like a complete beast, Randy is going to have major problems with this guy and really I cant see how he can beat him.

Fair dues to the Count !! fighting out of Liverpool !!! Get in there, smacked the crap out of that bloke from Sydney …. Which I suppose is a bonus. Top top performance as always ,…would like to see how he fairs against Rich Franklin or GPS … hes a gamer with skills for sure

My Favorite fight of the night and one of the most interesting MMA styles I have ever seen was David Heath Vrs Bruce Lee aka Machida …. I don’t like using this word but he was awesome, evasive and clinical. A true martial arts performance reminiscent of early UFC Karate fighters

Arlovski was effective , but incredibly boring, he fought for a points victory and got it. That said as someone who has watched a lot of Pride fights, Werdum is a world class fighter with sick ground skills … why he wanted to bang with Arlovski is beyond me, crop cop training aside this guy can tie more knots than a boy scout

The two big fellas Kongo and Silva was a pretty good show, as Rogan says if Kongo gets some ground skills he would be unstoppable … for me having seen silva fight a number of times he looked out of shape for that fight … looks like he could be destined to be an “opponent” his next fight is a must win.

Pretty good fight card over all…. Amazing Knock Out

If that kick happened to me I would've just laughed and said "try it again only harder" as I'm that tough

Who's that? Bet his attacks are very accurate though

Don't think we're likely to see Bisping against GSP or Franklin though, seeing as he's a light heavyweight and they're welterweights.

Would be great to see him go against Tito or Chuck eventually tho

I have no idea what Cro Cop was doing there. He saw the kick coming, winced and then dropped his guard?

From the sound of it, he isn't coming back either which is a shame.

I'd like to see GSP give Hughes a beating again.

Cro-Cop has already confirmed that he'll be back as he has 4 more fights left on his current deal. He said he did'nt see the kick coming as his vision was blurred due to the elbows he took just prior to the stand up.
GSP's next fight is against Josh Koscheck who i can't stand. he's a boring lay and pray fighter.
Hughes is fighting Matt Serra for the title at the end of TUF season 6. If they both win then that would set up the rematch, but i'd love to see Matt Serra submit Hughes after the way he disrespected him and GSP!

If you watch the Cro Cop knock again, watch his face, he clearly see's the kick coming in

I used to like Hughes, but his actions after GSP lost his last fight...

Yes, Josh is indeed a cock.

when i watched crocop getting knocked out I was under the impression he was expecting a kick to the body, much like Gonzaga had already thrown in the round, which could explain why he dropped his guard. but its also valid about the elbows he was getting.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Been away for the last week so i;ve yet to see any of UFC 70. Is it worth downloading?

It'll be interesting to see where UFC go from here. Obviously they invested alot of money in Cro-Cop. To see him defeated so early in his UFC career was obviously not in UFC's plans. Do they let him fight a bum in his next outing and then throw him in against the winner of the Gonzaga vs Coture fight?

It'll be interesting to see where UFC go from here. Do they go down the 'legitimate' route of having Cro-Cop having to face several more heavyweights before he's even in contention for a title fight or do they simply plonk him right back into the action?

Thats the great thing about MMA and most MMA fans. Its no disgrace to get knocked out in MMA or to get a defeat, most of the best fighters in the world right now have at least a half a dozen defeats on there records. Its not about a fighters record its about putting on a show for the fans. Some of the best fighters have more defeats than wins, they are game and they are not afraid to throw down. Fans love these fighters.

MMA is not Boxing, they are like chalk and cheese. Like comparing American Football to Rugby just because they look roughly simular does not make them the same, theres no comparison. (Just realised I got my threads mixed up)

MMA will take over in terms of the Big Show around the world. Which I feel can only be a good thing. MMA practitioners have respect for each other. Most of them will shake hands after knocking seven shades of **** out of each out for 3 rounds. Even the training camps usually have a lot of respect for each other. They train unbelievable hard, have you seen how ripped up most MMA fighters are, thats not for show.

The UFC will go from Strength to Strength ... a fighter getting knocked out shows he is fighter the right people.. and fans love seeing people getting knocked that **** out regardless of who it is
